It's fair to assume the ludicrous '3 Brits under 23' rule that's in effect this season will has had some impact on this, with how worthless contracts are in the EIHL it's not out of the question that someone who is signed up may find themselves no longer signed up in order to make the roster work with this new rule.

I'd assume one is Green. Corey won't get rid of Lee, being our only experienced British Defenceman.
I feel Clarke may take a more solid bench role for the upcoming season, remain as player/assistant coach but be on the bench until he has to fill in for injury.
Farmer is the priority Brit but could do a Davies and try his look in the ECHL again.
Lachowicz.. I'd like him to try overseas, even if it's like the French 2nd Division. But I can't see him leaving as I'm sure he's on a very comfortable contract. Plus he would likely be the guy who we get rid of, and then bites us in the backside with a career best season.
Green and Clarke would be my guess if anyone, but I wouldn't expect either to leave the club completely.

Why would the 19+3 rule affect it? I seem to remember someone saying last year's roster would fit in the new structure. I'd bet we'll see all Brits back, unless we make a horlicks with Farmer. The rest aren't going anywhere.

We have to remember though, the league was of a much lower standard then, than it is currently. Plus, because of the insane conference system, K-Wall and Wiikman have played more regularly against the better teams in the league also. So although it was indeed eye opening, i still think K-Wall was the better goalie. Works both ways though Matt. The forwards are better, but so are a current goalies Dmen. Cruickshank never really got tested in any BIG games though, because we never got there those seasons, except POFW one of the years, but he had already got injured in Coventry and we ended up with Kudrna in goal that year. We had the Nhlers for half a season, but we also got killed by injuries and only had about 14 players.

I don't take that article that we may lose a Brit ? Looks to me like a usual Panthers naff filler article in order to get yet another season ticket reminder on the front page of news ! 🙄

Yeah I suppose he'd have to become U23, but that's not a bad thing I think the max we ever had on the bench last year was 20.

Bet that's surprised plenty of people Spik......Cruickshank never got the credit he deserved in Nottingham. We were daft to let him go when we did.
He was on one decent ish Panthers team and one poor team too. This x100. From what I remember at the time it was spun as Ellis stamping his identity on the roster by bringing in Lindsay and saying that he was a 'winner' in the UK...albeit at BNL level whilst the goalie he was replacing had better stats at the EIHL level. Cruickshank was the only one who still looked like he vaguely cared at the end of the disastrous Blaisdell season as the ghost of Jeff Sebastian served up turn over after turn over in front!

We were stupid to let Cruickshank go.
And the real reason......all because he didn't tell Panthers his partner was having a baby during the season. So Moran did a usual GM back stab the following year.
Yet nowadays.....err how many players babies have been born in Nottingham in the last ten years !

Green is the worst backup netminder in the history of the sport so I sincerely hope he isn't back even if there is a fifty 'over 30' rule.

There's no way of retaining green on the playoff staff now. I can't see panthers having 3 u23 outskaters

Wouldn't write Frazee off really, EBEL isn't too much better than here, seems to be more and more moving from their to here. I think Ljubljana tend to be one of those clubs who under achieve and don't like to pay players on time. I'd take him, but then again, i'm sure another team would probably poach him.

Frazee will presumably be leaving, given Ljubljana are moving from EBEL to the Alps Hockey League. I have heard (from a Slovenian) that Ljubljana are notorious for not paying their players on time

With regards to British players, perhaps not one for the upcoming season, or the one after but I stumbled across Rais Francis.
Nottingham lad. 16 years old, 6'5" 100kg already.
Led the Ontario Hockey Academy u18's with 60pts in 54 games. Plays alongside Clarke's son, Morgan. In the year above Cade Neilson who plays for the u17's of OHA.
The academy has on record it produced Paul Swindlehurst and Jack Musil from the UK.
