I'd guess at SS.
I appreciate what CN is saying but if we signed adequate injury cover and had a spare people wouldn't need to play injured as often.

Whichever one it is, it's not good. Not good to have a player with that mentality, and certainly not good for a coach to be making that statement.

This was Schultz.
He was told by the medics he could play.....but refused and pulled himself out the game !

I doubt he would be calling out Lawrence bearing in mind he was injured AND ill, you'd have to think it was Schultz. Neilson has done the right thing here for calling him out, probably our best player and one of the best in the league yet he won't play through the pain for the sake of the team, the club, the fans, very disappointing

That he should have been told to either get out on the ice and play......or bugger off !

This would never happen under blaisdell and it didn't happen. Proves CN is soft. SS best not be back next year .

He is too injury prone (or reluctant to play) to have had back this year

I think this is a tough one ... If it is Schultz we know that he is injury prone so if he doesn't feel 100% should he really play? For example if he played and it got worse then who is to blame? I ain't sticking up for him because I don't want him here either but CN can't complain about players when most of them are playing injured every game and being rushed back. Those above him need some complaints going there way to get in players for cover.

Spang should be another one he has a stern talking to with his constant search for a quick dive and embellishment.
Schultz, I could see where he's coming from if it's him being unconfident about his own health and readiness having been injured so much but if it's him just feeling a bit sore and saying 'nah I'm not ready yet' then throw the book at him. Look at players like Farmer the other week, getting battered around and blocking shots, but missing barely a shift or two and seeing the game out, followed by x-rays after the game. Sure, it's not good for the body but it's the warrior mentality and the winning mentality, the one players should have.
Lawrence could do with fixing himself up too though, seems to be crawling along and getting a point in most games but doesn't visibility appear to bust a gut or anything near that, just trundles around. Would love to see his forechecking from last season return, that's been invisible this season and it tends to be against Blaze and/Steelers where he's quietest. Doesn't want to hit former teammates? Who knows but he needs to fix up fast or we'll be saying goodbye in April but thanks for introducing us to Brown.

If true then sack him and go find someone who is willing to put their all in for this team. I don't see Corey coming out with criticism off of a he said she said situation. There is obviously a few details we won't be able to know. IF this comes to be true then we must ask has this happened before? Has he bailed himself out of games in the past after injury?
Very worrying situation, happy to see the back of him. There can't be an passengers on this team.
If Fox can play with a slipped disc then these boys can get on with it and do the job. We're losing our scrappy underdog identity more and more every year.

For years we had the tag of being full of soft touches, flash Harry's,champagne Charlie's and team Hollywood and it was very well deserved. The guy who came over and changed that attitude and brought in the real warrior mentality was Bruce Richardson. That mentality stayed with us for a while, but it seems to have gradually worn off the last two or three years.
Let's be honest, look at this years team and if you were in the trenches, how many of them would you really want to take with you, knowing they would fight, give it their all and their body wouldn't let them down ? Brown,NIkiforuk,Farmer,Macgrattan,Betteridge,Lindhagen, maybe Spang and......??

Wiikman is pretty bang average in the league... give him a Cup Final or Playoff game and he turns into Henrik Lundqvist! Carter saved his skin when he should have been gassed around late Nov/ early Dec. Now he's back to mediocrity after a few decent performances. Lawrence strolls up to the arena before games puffing away on cigarettes... He would have been like a fish out of water in the grand slam team! I also fear there are more occasions this season where players have sat out or pushed the boundaries on returning from injuries, longer than necessary. Maybe Neilson is getting fed up with it?

Lawrence strolls up to the arena before games puffing away on cigarettes... What coach thinks it's acceptable for a PROFESSIONAL sportsman to smoke? Buy him some nicorette and tell him to stop or get lost.

Suppose it depends how 'ill' Larry was. Known attitude problems in the past and panthers website called his injury out as getting hit on the hand by the puck - something they don't normally do.
Seems to be coasting at the minute because we're short he knows he's going to play.

Now I'm no fan of smoking and am by no means justifying this but as a bit of perspective there were rumblings Kowalski was a smoker, didn't impede him.

Seems to be coasting at the minute because we're short he knows he's going to play. Given the way he was taking faceoffs in the game against Fife it was fairly obvious his hand was hurt.

Spang should be another one he has a stern talking to with his constant search for a quick dive and embellishment. Given the amount of ice time he's logging and the fact he's consistently our best player he'd be the last person I gave a talking to.

Doesn't Corey have to take some responsibility here? He knows them both from last year so unless it's an attitude that whoever it is has developed this year why did he re-sign them?
