The deal had been done for a couple weeks, Sam was just seeing out the alleged two week period that's required.

Of course of course but i don't know if there's any truth behind it or if it's just speculation so 'alleged' seemed a suitable maybe, maybe not term to use

Come on Jordan, keep,up ! Only if you're looking for something to complain about is it an issue really, especially knowing he's gone. If you had no idea he'd gone, turned up and Saturday and said 'Where's Oakford'.. Then fair enough, but come on. You know he's gone and now he's gone he's very much irrelevant and so the 'same' roster is assuming everyone knows he's gone so no need to make an article saying that he's gone again.

Maybe made a better offer from Telford with more ice time and jumped at the chance, leaving us in the crap with no chance of securing a replacement. The more I think of it the more annoyed I get. Really landed us in it!

Really landed us in it! I don't see any reason not to take his story at face value personally. Telford is probably near where he needs to be for his studies, and doesn't require as much of his time. We should never have mugged off Swindlehurst. It seemed a bad idea at the time, and, if there's something long term wrong with Stevie Lee, has now come home to roost.

Swindlehurst was about 10 times better than the vastly overrated Oakford. I thought that at the time and watching him play again tonight makes me think I under valued Swindlehurst.

Totally agree on the Swindlehurst bit. I liked him.
There was a suggestion that he was a problem in the locker room. The actions (between PS and his Panthers team mates from last season) at handshakes last night suggested otherwise.

Oakford plays a much more simplistic game that is a lot more low risk so in a game where Swindlehurst is 'on his game' he's always going to look 10x better than Oakford regardless of how well the latter plays. I think people's perception of Oakford has harshly gone downhill just because he left, he outperformed both Swindlehurst and Lee last year for us in the British D man stakes.

There is far more to Swindlehurst than just playing D and for a team that gives all the BS possible on Brit development I think we let a FAR better player go. At the end of the day Oakford really wasn't getting much ice time anyway and I think Lee (playing at his best) is a far bigger worry missing at the moment. Oakford came along well but he was coming from a very low base and there are far better Brit defenders in the league.
