Congratulations Panthers, by far the best team in the final four. Also the best team I have watched at Cardiff this season, two trophies in the cabinet ain't too bad.

Just think if we had a fit netminder all season and play green for about 8 games!
Brilliant set of forwards , bringing in Macdonald and Quick was superb. This helped make schmidt probably our best d man.

This helped make schmidt probably our best d man. Macdonald and Quick have been a revelation since they both came in. Quick is very classy and can create offense with his speed and puck work, and Macdonald is one that every team needs, nothing flashy but solid, calm and a great outlet pass. would be very happer if either/or both returned next year

The Evening Post is generally good with Panthers reports, but seriously....
"Panthers, who also won the Challenge Cup this season, led at the end of the first period thanks to a fierce hit by Stephen Schultz from the blue line.
But Schultz teed up Kevin Quick to fire the second into the roof of the net."

oh and by the way - is anyone else looking forward to another European adventure?! I would pass on that trip and offer it to another club, ruins your chances in winning the league! It is no co-incidence that Sheffield won the league back to back because they used the CHL as a warm up to the league and started fast out of the blocks. Swap the CHL for the CC for Sheffield this last season and Cardiff are league champions! Playing these matches in Oct/Nov causes fixture backlogs and look at how we handled the fixture congestion this season.. No thanks, hopefully we will crash out in the first round and focus 100% on winning the league next season. No distractions please.

Never gave up believing, shame that quite a lot of you did in here, I'll just continue being a happy clapper and never being negative because I never had to spend a night depressed like some of you did!

I'm taking a jibe at maybe 3-4 people in here, apologies for that, maybe 'a lot of you' was a wrong statement for me to make. I'm in a great mood and just got annoyed reading comments from certain people who have spent 90% of the season on these forums being negative self pleasers at every opportunity and suddenly "love" our team!

Titch, if you're in such a great mood, just enjoy the moment.
I never stopped believing that we'd win the play offs, I called it in January. Didn't stop me having a few gripes about certain aspects of how the club was run.
Anyway, well done to CN/RS and the team, best team over the weekend and fully deserving of the trophy. Miika deserved his MOM but thought Lawrence was amazing in the final. Unbelievable effort and workrate. Nobody had a bad game though really.
Only gripe? The loud mouthed, grey haired pensioner on the mic at the end. Obviously.
Only five months until the next puck drops. Nice memories of POFW to take into the summer though.

We aren't the champions, Titch. Sheffield are.
They won the most important trophy.

Isn't Macdonald retiring? Sure in GMS shouting session he was saying it was his last game.

Campione Campione ole ole oleeeeeeeee! I think you will find it was the league that people gave up on early Titch, not the cup or play offs. And they were generally correct and you were wrong. Give it 5 or 6 more years under your belt and when your new fan glow fades, you will begin to appreciate what we mean by "Groundhog Day" in relation to Panthers yearly league challenge.

The first period of the game was one of the most intense I have watched, it wasn't that we were bad but you just rolled and rolled wave after wave, fantastic hockey.
I'm gutted that we lost but I'm glad we made it to the final and gave you a proper game and although it was great to put 6 past Devils, yesterday was a far better game of hockey.
Congratulations Panthers

You must be soft in the head. Have you paid attention to what people actually had issues with or does that child like mind let it's imagination run wild? The issues people have complained about run above the on ice product. Get a grip and let people enjoy it without causing tension with moronic comments as you seem to do regularly now (but you know you thrive off of positivity)

All right people, that's enough of the childish little digs at each other... this thread is about an entertaining weekend with two wins and a trophy for the Panthers, isn't it? I'm sure there's plenty enough there to allow scope for discussion...

Don't suppose anyone is sticking the games on DVD? I certainly hope so. Still after a hard copy of BOTH finals, if anyone out there can help us.
