Interesting bit on the Panthers site: For anyone who can't see it based on screen size: So everyone knew where they stood before the 1/4 finals, bet we wouldn't have all this noise if Clan had won!

The Elite League should have published some of this detail after the board meeting. What they did us tell after the board mtg might have been pretty interesting, but this is important, particularly as they had previously published a different progression route through the semi's. All of this could have been avoided if they had.
Also i'm pretty sure Simmsey would have been at that board mtg - and that is where he should have, could have, would have, had the opportunity to raise his concerns.
Lighting the touch-paper in the world of social media has ended up inciting Steelers fans to slag off Panthers and vice versa. All avoidable. ...I do wonder, though, was this exactly what he is looking to achieve?

Simms confirms they could have done the game on Feb 7th but they didn't think they could sell enough tickets to make it worthwhile.
So it's not that it's our fault, he's just putting profits over his fans. I thought only Panthers did that?

I think Mr Simms has made himself look even more foolish with this coming out. No confidence in the steelers fan base!

It's certainly looking like Mr Simms and his Steelers are the ones at fault and telling a few porkies here.
The man is a complete idiot.

So the dates were agreed at a league meeting before the quarter finals were even played! Couldn't Simmsy be bothered to go? Didn't anybody tell him? Ahhhhh, poor thing! Don't be fooled Sheffield, he's just trying to poo poo stir to try to resurrect the rivalry. He's to be applauded for his commitment to the Steelers, but his methods are those of an infant.

If no tickets are made available why not go up and pack out the public bar. Watch the game through the glass.

You are suggesting that I stand in a crowded bar?? - next to Steeler's fans?? - will need to make sure all my innoculations are up-to-date - think Slimmsy will have all the windows blacked out so we cannot see through them, or worse still - he may be in the bar with us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We shouldn't release tickets for away fans for the second leg. Go out and give them to schools or something let's face it I'd rather hear a bunch of high pitched screaming from nottingham school kids then those lot up the road.

Lets not get down to Mr Simms level, Although Panthers could sell tickets at £10 & £5 to fill the arena, just maybe management will look back to the Clan game and have a rethink about ticket prices Belfast season ticket holders (in addition to the cup games being included in their season tickets) get an additional free seat for every season ticket they own and they have the same pricing you've just suggested.

Elite are responsible on all counts. They need to get their act together. They run the sport....badly.

Sheffield could play at the arena on the 4th Feb if they wanted, they don't want to,they will make similar money from an Ice Sheffield sell out as 4500 midweek at the arena. They are happy playing at Ice Sheffield but they know, their fans won't be,so,their management are making out they aren't happy and blaming everybody but themselves simply to hoodwink their own fans.
Wake up Steeler fans and blame your own club for this fiasco !

Steelers play in Belfast on 2nd. With the travel they were never going to go for 4th for CC

Steelers play in Belfast on 2nd. With the travel they were never going to go for 4th for CC That's their problem, not ours. Teams travel to and from Belfast all the time and play a tighter schedule than that.

Not blaming anyone just pointing out a reason why they would not be happy with the date you suggest

The bottom line is that the Steelers thought they would be playing the Clan in the semi's and they knew that would be an Ice Sheffield game. We pulled off a minor miracle, they got it wrong and they now have red faces. End of story.

That's exactly what we were told last night by someone who works closely with the club, Simms knows that Panthers won't speak out in public . There is still nothing on at the arena on the Tuesday so why haven't they changed their minds and moved it.
