Short benched team in inevitable loss shocker.... You play a back up & 5d it will come back to bite you. The club are taking the wee wee out of us paying fans.
That said, great 'almost' comeback. Thought Stewart was sensational for them, brilliant goalie. How he didn't get their MofM is a complete mystery. Fair play to Coventry, they've thoroughly deserved all 4pts over these games.
Out title 'hopes' are over, plain gone. Hopefully the coach is as well at the end of the season.

Shambolic in the first, and you can't give any team a 4-0 start and expect much at the end of it all.
Green let a couple of softies in, but some of the team defending was mind boggling, considering we knew at the start we're playing with 5D and the backup. The amount of times we were outnumbered on their goals was amazing, you'd think we'd have set out to play defensively and build from there, but seemed to play as if we had a full compliment. I dunno.

Thought Green had a shocker. IMO he was the reason we lost the game. Everything just bounced of or went through him.
Though we didn't help ourselves again playing short. Now is the Time to get a import NM and let Wiikman FULLY recover instead of the coming in at 50% to just have the next game off. Then we need cover for the D. Got more chance of going to the moon but you know.
Don't think we actually played that badly. Stewart made some cracking saves and that position was the difference today.

Agreed Yotes, we're so naive at the back it's plain ridiculous. The number of basic errors & lack of positional sense is alarming. We really do lack a stay at home Dman, even at full strength the roster lacks this.
Wiikman's early season form masked this very well but now he's regressed a little it shows.

From the OS.
Panthers come nailbitingly close to a memorable comeback. With the number 1 netminder out injured it was down to Green to backstop the panthers.
With a couple of goals that greener would want back and Stewart for the Blaze making some spectacular stops, it could have been a very different result in front of the bumper new years crowd.
With a few players not responding to treatment as expected and still on the sidelines coach Corey is considering his options with new signings.
These exciting new signings could be here as soon as Saturdays game against this year's surprise package the Edinburgh capitals. Good seats are still available.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Mikas wife will give birth in next week or two an he is entitled to at least 1 month off as part it leave. Once again the GM and Corey have short changed the fans and it is surely time for a change

Well well what a shocking end to 2015, that could be the nail in the coffin for this year, we are now 9 behind the Devils. Not buying all this blaming green yes he let a couple of soft ones in but he's a back up netminder. This is the clubs fault, wiikman has been injured now for 3 weeks and what have the club done about it? Nothing. Also questioning neilson. Why has he split bohmbach & kolnik up when they had good chemistry? Janssen does not get enough ice & looks fed up. Betteridge works his arse off & probably had 4 shifts tonight. At least that numpty of s gm will go home happy with s nearly full house again.

No. You see what you've done now, MODSTUFF? we are now 9 behind the Devils 7 I think, but only 2 games in hand. If you look at the table, we could easily slide to 5th if they don't pick it up soon.

Well, all our chickens came home to roost this afternoon. Dan Geen got found out with a couple of absolute shockers while his back up, late of the skate shop looked on knowing it would probably never get bad enough for him to get a shift. Serously wanting at the back in the first, but hey two D men missing and no cover other than a bloke who got gassed. So no cover. Up front our best forward has been out for two months but don't worry, everything will be fine. Miraculously after what must have been a verbal shellacking the team rallied in the second and played like a their lives depended on it, being slightly unlucky not to go in level. However that's as good as it got, the team's exertions in the second and being constantly short benched meant they couldn't maintain the intensity, and once the Blaze got the fifth it never seemed likely we could come back again. Now despite their woeful showing in the first I don't particularly blame the players. They along with us, the fans have been short changed again by the Panthers organisation. Wiikman has been struggling with an injury for nearly two months but at no point has there been any attempt to bring in cover, the result of which left us with a shop assistant as backup today. Shultz, possibly our top forward has been out for over two months and not adequately replaced. The drama that has been our defence has limped on all season with mainly ignorance from coaches and management. Finally I was a little surprised Neil Black had the gall to sit with the fans, for a couple of reasons. He's short changed us all season and I would have though he would've sooner been in Glasgow meeting the import goalie Braehead immediately brought in the second Holt was injured. Hey Ho happy new year Cory, Rick, Gary and Neil, another full house to swell the coffers. Afterall that's what's most important isn't it?

Don't blame Green he wasn't that bad,but the difference in goalies cost us that game.
Blame Panthers management for not bringing a replacement import netminder in three weeks ago. Chris Holt gets injured at Braehead and wham they get another import goalie here in about five days, one with very good stats too. Panthers battered Coventry for three periods tonight, even most of the first one,but distinctly average net minding along with poor defence cost us.
I hear they are after Modig, however if I was him, after the way Panthers treated him last season i would tell them to get stuffed !!!!

It has to be said, I'm well and truly fed up. We've gone from title favourites to a team who will be lucky to finish in the top 5.
3 years of injuries is now becoming a bore. Green had an absolute shocker but Neilsons tactics are arrogant and baffling.
I know they tried to sign Plante but then gave up when he'd already got a better deal. They have shown in the past how easy it is to get a goalie in at short notice.
This must be Neilsons final hurrah, the whole organisation has gone stale, problem is they would give the job to Rick.

The reason that we have gone from a table topping team to a mediocre team is down to an accumulation of things
Firstly, the lack of replacements for key players in the team, I.E. Wiikman and Schultz, if you think back they were the most reliable players we had and could be counted on to stand on their heads and win us games, Corey has been stupid to think that the Brit forwards can win games for us, Lacho and Farmer being two in particular who have dissapointed.
The second issue is the manic run of games we have had and the number of them that have been away in a row, it is ridiculous and to expect a team to not got tired when playing games in quick succession is daft, they aren't machines. This also ties in with the poor defence we have seen, at the start of the season every single forward would backcheck but as the season has gone on and players have had to endure this ridiculous run of games they have become worn out and can't get back in time. The club have pretty much destroyed our season by agreeing to this run of games.
Finally, Neilson. This obsession with changing line combinations does nothing but disrupt chemistry, players are constantly having to adapt to each other's strengths and tendencies and it simply doesn't work. He is making the D commit suicide by making them keep the puck behind our own net, it is one of the easiest ways to catch us out and his happened numerous times this season, also, there is no plan B when we have got our backs against the wall, our style of play doesn't change at all.
This is probably the best team we have had and I hope it will be as a team that we remember for the good times, but at the minute unless things change they will be remembered as the team that almost did it

Seems playing Wiikman injured has aggregated a minor strain. Rumour has it he'll be out for five to six weeks. Well done to all involved.

5/6weeks coinsiding with the birth of his child. Similar to Kwall and a child last season. Not questioning players commitment, more the clubs way of being honest?
Im not saying they havn't had/got injuries. Just that its easier for the club to manage the PR that way.
