Another not so great weekend for Nottingham Panthers is covered by Aaron Lord, Tina Taylor, Andy Haywood & me in this weeks Cat’s Whiskers Podcast. We start in Cardiff looking back at Devils 3-1 victory over the Panthers and we have post game interviews with Devils coach Andrew Lord & forward Leigh Salters. (10.24) Sunday's penalty shot victory over Fife Flyers is covered next and we also look at some of your comments on the weekend action. The rest of the news is covered including Ryan Hayes moving from Edinburgh to Sheffield, Cardiff signing Ryan Russell and GB U18 Women's excellent performance in their World Championship. Finally I speak to AVFTB host Patrick Smyth and stand-in host Mark Hitchcock about Panthers weekend games coming up against Belfast Giants & Sheffield Steelers (40.24). Once again we had so many good quality #AskTCW questions that we recorded them in a separate Podcast that will be available later in the week. Download or stream from the link below. wp.me/P6zbpB-e8

An early Podcast recording this week on Monday night due to the Clan game. Does anyone have any hockey related #AskTCW questions for us to discuss?

Is the Play Off Ticketing system fair, is 2 weeks a correct length of time for Season Ticket holders to get their tickets for the weekend or is there a fairer way for non Season Ticket holders who attend a large amount of games to obtain their tickets?
Apologies if this subject has been brought up before during previous seasons on this Podcast

Should we have organised any games in the international break coming up in February where we have ten days without a game, bearing in mind Panthers will have several players away with GB ? Cardiff are going to France to play two games against Brest and Belfast have Cortina the Italian team coming to the Odyssey arena.

I'm glad they've got a weekend off tbh. Watch one or two of our Brits come back injured now lol.

Paul Balm makes a welcome return to article writing for The Cat's Whiskers, asking What is a Real Fan? Particularly pertinent considering some of the debates on various Social Media platforms recently. wp.me/P6zbpB-ei

Yet another split weekend for Paul Balm, Andy Haywood, Aaron Lord, Tina Taylor & me to discuss on The Cat's Whiskers Podcast. We discuss Panthers victory over Belfast Giants before moving on to their controversial defeat in Sheffield the following night. I spoke to Steelers coach Paul Thompson post game. We look at the other EIHL news & results including David Rutherford's departure from Edinburgh Capitals and coach Riley Emmerson's reaction. We also wish good luck to Steven Chalmers who has sadly had to retire from the game due to injury. We look ahead to Panthers Challenge Cup Quarter Final tie with Braehead Clan and finally Tina speaks to Clare Freeman from Manchester Storm Podcast 'The Forecast' about this weekend's home & home series. #AskTCW will be available on a separate podcast once again later in the week. Download or stream from the link below. wp.me/P6zbpB-el

Which format are you listening on TFS? The stream from thecatswhiskersonline page I've checked on my desktop & iPad and the sound is fine from the The Cat's Whiskers website. Is there any chance you could have it muted? There is a volume bar on the right hand side of the embedded stream.

Loved the Birmingham question although it was a bit bizarre.
EIHL club in my adopted city, that would be something! Me and Simmsy can run it!
Birmingham Bulls, as the bull statue at the Bull Ring is the modern symbol of the city. Colours red/yellow/blue as they are the colours on the flag of the city. Playing at the NIA (Barclaycard Arena) but not with any of Panthers' current roster as player coach. And not Thommo either despite his local links.

A team in Birmingham would be excellent, hope no one minds me having a crack at the question too. I reckon the fans would be the slowest chanters in the league but quite possibly the best. I'm also loving the idea of a dark green kit, as it's second only to black and olive green as my favourite colour.
I agree they should play out of the NIA as it's centrally based in the city, like the NIC, and not the NEC as it'd be a lot more difficult to fill. Finally player/coach for me would be Ling. Simply because the guy makes me laugh, he's sneaky and a determined player and because I have an image of 15 Lings, as well as the goalie, on one team. They'd be hell to play against.

#ASKTCW special. As panthers don't provide a webcast, is it OK for visiting fans to stream the game themselves? Ie periscope

I think this is covered under the "strictly no photography rule".. whether it is "ok" or not depends if you think they are doing it for "safety of the players" or to make more money from the fans...
