They are reviewed by Kirkham I think and he gives them feedback. What sanctions are you hoping they give to them? As far as I know they do it for expenses (if that), would you keep doing that if you got publicly flogged when you mess it up? The bigger question should be with all of the people going to games over this holiday period (and has been mentioned already on several sites including the Panthers own) why do they need to use refs who do it for just expenses? Talking to a couple of players in Scotland a few weeks back and they are even more peed off about it than the fans are. They put together DOPS for player safety and yet yesterday there were high sticks to the face, kneeing, boarding and all right in front of the refs face and not called. Player safety, I call BS. It's all about the £££ That's fair enough, but it's also a different question. So long as Kirkham is working to help them improve, I think we have to accept they'll get it wrong sometimes without the need for public dressing downs. We need at least 5 refs and 10 linesmen to have a viable league, so can we afford to give out too much stick, rather than the carrot to try and improve what we've got?

Some of the ref performances in Scotland for instance and yesterdays masterclass in how to get it REALLY wrong is way beyond carrot and stick. Just look around you at the bums on seats and you can see that it's not a money thing. Full house yesterday at Coventry and both the fans and players need better. M&S bags, 5 pucks and a pool ball, the play off weekends in recent years, do the EIHL themselves a grip at all?

Here is a question. Lee out for a while and now Dinman obviously badly hurt yesterday. Is it time to be looking for at least one *proper* D man to be brought in before we leak ourselves to 4th or 5th position in the league?

IE 6 first choice D men with the option of using Mosey as cover.

We've had a suggestion from Mick Holland about the podcast and we wanted to ask your opinions as we think it's quite a good idea. With the podcast often over an hour long Mick suggested we put times in the Podcast synopsis on Spreaker and the TCW website for each episode, then if there's a bit that you don't want to listen to you can scroll ahead. For example it may look something like this:
00:00 Intro 01:30 Saturday game review Panthers v Steelers 11:45 Sunday game review Devils v Panthers 18:30 Interview with Todd Kelman 21:20 Fans comments 26:45 EIHL Roundup 41:50 #AskTCW 55:00 Interview with Ryan Finnerty 61:40 Look ahead to Panthers v Braehead 64.30 Look ahead to Blaze v Panthers
Do you think this is a good idea? Please let us know.
If you have any other comments, feedback or suggestions for the podcast then please let us know.

Yes it's a very good idea Jonno. I would guess,as with watching "checking it out" many people will fast forward through the dull stuff and adverts to get to the interesting bits,I know I do.
Timings would make that easier to find what you want.

You're such a charmer, Iggy It would be very useful though Jono. I often can't listen to the full hour-plus in one go, so to be able to easily pick up where you left off would be good. Can you make them shortcuts to that point in the audio, like you can link a YouTube vid to start at a certain point I think? (Probably not possible, but would be nice.)

We're expecting a lot of questions this week so we're starting #AskTCW early. Do you have any hockey related questions you'd like us to discuss on this weeks TCW Podcast?
Just for your info we've already had questions on the netminding situation & substance over profit.

Is it a good idea to be letting players play through injury? In this day and age shouldn't injuries be managed better? The days of not knowing the extent of an injury and how long it will take an injured player to recover is a thing of the past in all professional sports so it it really worth taking a chance when the stakes are so high (for us as fans anyway)?

In our first edition of 2016 Tina Taylor, Aaron Lord, Paul Balm, Andy Haywood and me look back on Panthers home games against Coventry Blaze and Edinburgh Capitals and look at some of your comments on Panthers Christmas campaign. We analyse December for the main title challengers thanks to stats from David Carnell before discussing Panthers signing of netminder Shane Madolora from Valpellice in Italy. We finish by looking ahead to Panthers weekend games against Cardiff Devils and Fife Flyers. Download or stream from the link below. wp.me/P6zbpB-dXNote: As we received so many #AskTCW questions, we've recorded a special Podcast to answer them that will go online later this week.

Because of the numbers of #AskTCW question we had sent to us this week, we recorded this section of this weeks Podcast as a stand-alone special. Jono Bullard, Paul Balm, Andy Haywood, Tina Taylor & Aaron Lord discuss the following questions sent in by our listeners: Is it a good idea to be letting our players play through injury? Do Panthers fans ask for too much or are we really profit over substance? Is Gary Moran's position as GM untenable? Is it the last year for Corey and if so who is to take over? Do you think Chris Lawrence will now stay being as the club are selling sponsorship packages for him? Can Panthers defence cope with the players they have or do they need to make changes? With Wiikman playing injured or with Green they have conceded a lot of goals. Did Wiikman make the D look better than it is? Comments about Oakford having to be "babysitted" and then the Dan Green thing today - does CN need to think before he speaks? What changes would you like to see with regard to the relationship between Panthers and it's fans (if any)? Download or stream from the link below. wp.me/P6zbpB-e3

Not really a askTCW question if that's OK but more of a suggestion and it is sort of relevant but is it possible to say who'll be answering questions before we answer them if you see what I mean. I feel like I want to ask another question like I did before but I feel that if I did and Paul answered it in his usual belittling manner it would just be a waste of time. I think show is much worse with him on it, he's so disillusioned and negative it drages the whole show down. You should get more people like Tina who know what they're talking about and bring enthusiasn rather than someone who sucks all the life out of the show. I know you say who will be on the show after it's recorded but I want to be able to participate without worrying what will happen.

I don't like the idea of being belittled simply for asking a question like I've heard him do before since he's joined the show in December. I'm sorry but I just feel he makes the show worse.

You see this is where I have a difference of opinion... Paul is old school like me, been there at the beginning and not some kid in nappies at the time either, im not blowing his horn but hes seen the good the bad and the ugly (see other thread) and as such I respect his opinion even if I don't always agree with it. However, and I don't mean any disrespect but Aaron and Tina have I suspect only seen hockey in the new arena (and most probably the more successful years of that too)...
I am sure they have watched a lot of hockey but I know Paul has, we have discussed most of in the past and I don't want to speak for him but Paul cares very much about hockey and Panthers in particular. Its very easy to overlook issues and discuss mundane, had it off the panthers management for a long time (who incidentally is going to the quiz night as apparently there are a couple of tables still free) but I think Paul gets to the nub of issues in a humorous sarcastic way, obviously just imho...Oh and Paul didn't join the show in December he was one of the founder members..

Your post on here is more belittling than anything I've ever heard on TCW. The different styles of presenters is one of the good things about the show in my opinion.
