I agree this looks to be a tight one, I tghink we could well miss Myers more than we might think, he has been excellent on Face offs this year and as someone mentioned on another thread one of the few, along with Kraijicek who is prepared to Skate the puck out of our zone into the opponents.
OT win Panthers I hope

If my memory serves me right I think theres only been one goal between us all season so its going to be another tight game. Id like to think 3-2 Panthers but dont ask where my optimism comes from. Phoenix deserved better when they were here earlier in season.

Im saying 3-2 aswell, Clarke and Neilson to get back to scoring and a random scorer ie a brit who doesnt get many.
Shmyr will want Gomez if he can but cant see Gomez wanting it when hes been out ill for a while and has not been fully healthy for a while. I can see a fight happening tho at some point, maybe involving Campbell with someone like Mcaslan or Reesy!

I will be happy going home with a point. Nottingham have the physical edge. Simoes seems to have the upper hand against us. Do not expect Gomez or Campbell go with anybody. Keeping players on the ice is far more important.
Looking forward to the game

This team isn't inconsistent, it loses far too many games for that.

Clarke scored a hat trick. Looked o.k going forward (most of the time) Wolfe made some good saves. Our 'D' is crap. Our Goalie reminds me of a 10 month old child (crawling around the ice on his hands & knees!)
Yes, I've given up. We won't win out with a D like a sieve!

Re: The new netminder, do people think he looked so good in his first few games as the D gave him plenty of cover? I seem to notice we would clear the puck alot more round him alot more than they ever did with Lindsay. But now the D has gone back to the comfort zone and playing like they did when Lindsay was in the nets. As a result it shows our new netinder as average..
Not attacking the man, its just now the defence is back to its usal self he looks very plain and worrys me at times.

It's very disappointing to be on the losing side here as this was a good case for any advocate of a game tied after regulation time should end a draw. Neither side deserved to lose tonight in my opinion. I did enjoy the game though and thought it was an excellent advert for Elite League ice hockey. Two very evenly matched teams playing some decent hockey, seven goals, lots of hard hits and phsyical play and two fights thrown in for good measure. Just what I hope for when I roll up at the NIC every week. A win would have been nice though. Again we just can't defend - Molin had the freedom of the city of Nottingham with their second equaliser! We also missed Matt Myers - I don't have the stats to hand and wasn't counting but I'd guess the percentage of faceoffs we won tonight was very low. I hardly remember any.
Only thing that slightly annoyed me was that we seemed content to take the match into overtime and see what happened in the closing minutes. When you're at home, the league is as tight as it is and you're 2 and 7 (now 2 and 8) in games that go into the extra session that's a very poor attitude to take.
It seems to me that we only win games where we can establish a lead and hold on to it comfortably. In games where the opposition leads or the opposition keep coming back into it we don't seem to know what to do and that's very frustrating. A good game but we really must do better.

well i must of been watching a different game from some people tonight as i thought the game was very poor. Some very good goals from both teams and some reasonable hits but other than that the game was awful. Both sides keep giving the puck away especially in their own zones, players kept being muscled out of possession, really bad defending from both sides and to be honest no team really deserved to win and Manchester only did from a very good goal. Also the officiating was a bit of a shambles tonight as there were quite a few calls that were very uncalled for and then there were some platen penalties that weren't called.

It's fairly obvious that refs are not calling a zero tollerence game at all and the Elite league seem quite happy to let them do so, but still harp on about how we are calling it. I wish they would come clean and say we are not doing it because our refs are unable or unwilling to do so.Could have sat there tonight with a note book and filled a good few pages with uncalled fouls. Oh and if thats Panthers playing "playoff hockey" im glad the playoffs only lat 2 games.

The worst thing for me is that I realy don't feel anything after this latest defeat, just apathy. My attitude was 'oh well'. 4 or 5 years ago I would have walked out the NIC with steam coming out of my ears after snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory (yet again). Really can't be bothered, a bit like the majority of our roster!
