What you can't really see there, is Spencer getting in the first jab. In terms of a ban - it really depends what the excessive roughing was for. If it was for continuing to hit Spencer while he was down, Henley has a case to answer. Have seen some comments this morning about Henley leaving the bench to fight - he left the bench as part of a line change, and wasn't the first Panther on the ice off the bench. Will be interesting to see how it's dealt with. As are Corey's comments on the incident, which I'll hopefully be able to share later. Owen

Spencer & Fata - two peas in a pod. Skating around pushing and shoving, mouthing off yet refusing to answer the bell when our tough guys come calling. The look on Spencer's face when confronted with Henley was priceless. Never seen a so called tough guy turtle like that.
Fathead in particular is a has-been in the tough guy dept. He has been like this for the past 2 seasons at least. Had his little man crush on Fox last year, chasing him all over the ice. I was waiting to see which of our non-fighters he'd go for this year and it looked like Jensen got the nod. Spencer seemed stangely drawn to Lachowicz.
My mate sits behind our bench and says Salters asked for the nod in the 3rd to sort Spencer but CN shook his head.

"Sergeant Spencer" turned out to be just "private parts" Got to laugh at Simms hahaha brilliant! even better that simms was stood behind the goal, no doubt he had a great view of the last 5 goals! watching steelers lose their rag is hilarious, well worth the entrance fee alone to watch players like fata spencer hewitt and baldwin getting wound up and snapping and then Jensen & others just laughing at them - agitation at its finest. we all hate darryl lloyd on here, myself possibly more than anything, but its that "cowardness" if you like that is so very effective in games like this, jensen chirping and niggling away but wont answer the bell, great wind up tactic when carried out properly as shown last night. special mention to franny, Murray and Stevie lee who i thought were top drawer last night. always nice to beat the steelers - even better when they hit the self-destruct button whilst getting hammered, very entertaining.

I have seen a video on FB, (I can't get it to load up on here) not as bad as I thought. Punching Frank Spencer while he was face down is not too good though. Frank was offering our players but did not count on Mr Henley handing him a deserved beating. Where on Facebook LOTR? It was on my page, Pidge posted it so he might put it on here later. It's the same footage from above. There were some saying Henley didn't have his stick, he was punching between the officials. From What I saw, the only down side was at least one punch while Frank was trying to turtle. Frank Spencer "The Angel"

They seem to be easily offended up there! Quote from Steeltalk
"One more thing... Nobody has commented on the goalie change by Panthers with about 3 minutes left on the clock. I thought that was down right disrespectful from Nelisen and Nottingham, Dan Green is now the third choice goalie there, and to put him on for 3 minutes at the end of a game like that was insulting, and in my opinion just goes to show how low Notts are at times."

That place gets even more hilarious every time you read it. Maybe next time to please them we only play our brits. Its even more funny that they only managed to score once past effectively 2 backup netminders.

Oh my word - another "code" dreamt up in Stealbleatland. The type that only crops up when Panthers do it; like Simms and his "disrespect" at Panthers scoring 10 in a game. You couldn't make this stuff up. You lost - get over it.

Tim Spencer is a phonie. He got exactly what he had coming to him. It was a good decision by Henley and it was a play for the team. Spencer bossed the game on Saturday and he was trying to pick up where he left off and Henley decided that's not happening on my watch!!!! Sometimes you have to take a penalty to prove a point. If Henley gets a suspension for this and the penalty is not downgraded to 5+game it will be a travesty!!!!

If Henley gets a suspension for this and the penalty is not downgraded to 5+game it will be a travesty!!!! I actually didn't realise it was Spencer at first as Henley obscured my view from block 14. Also, the way Henley absolutely dominated with nothing being thrown back and then the way he (Spencer) turtled there was no way I thought this was their 'tough guy'. What a joke. Did Henley leave the bench to fight? Having seen the video, no. He was the 3rd/4th Panthers player out for a line change. Did he blindside Frank? Again, no. I thought at the time it was a 5+game and was surprised when he skated to the box and wasn't escorted straight of the ice. I was thinking maybe he'd get away with fighting+instigator. Then of course Doug threw one of his mardy girly tissy fits and off Henley went. Severity of the ban would seem to now depend on how Moray views the punches thrown while Nookie Bear was on the ice. The inconsistency and downright awful display by Hicks was compounded later in the game. His calls on Hewitt/Jensen compared to his calls on Henley/Spencer were baffling to put it mildly.

I'm not sure he'll get away with the line change, when he comes on we've got 7 skaters on the ice, we'll see I guess but I reckon Moray'll do him.
Also, amusing as it is to the likes of me, can we leave the wonky eye stuff please (see rule 11).

The only thing what he can get done for is the excessive bombs thrown while Frank is on the ice

If Henley's match penalty stands, will he have a bigger ban because it's his 2nd match penalty of the season?

I mean there must be a point between line change and bench clearance? The question I guess is, and I don't know the answer, is it legal for a player to start an altercation when the play is dead after leaving the bench, or does he have to wait for the play to then restart?
