I'm getting used to it and like it. Good, it feels great doesn't it? ;D Actually it feels a little odd. But now we have our 21st domestic trophy (same as Sheffield) our next chapter is to move on and achieve that league again.

Steelers will definitely improve on the previous two seasons that's for sure under DC but I can't see it happening at the pace Steelers fans want it to happen. He needs to hit the ground running, if they don't start next season well then attendances could well be back to where they were a few seasons ago(although they haven't improved THAT much anyway). They can be pretty fickle up there when it comes to buying tickets. Big season for them coming up. 1200 improvement in 2 years, not much of an improvement then? Only 25%. Arena average has increased 25%. I'm sure if we didn't play Edinburgh on a Tuesday evening at the NIC then our attendances would show a similar trend too. Although our attendance increase is easier to analyse than Sheffield's due to playing at only one location. Whilst accepting your attendances have been heading in the right direction I think having Ice Sheffield makes the figures look a lot better than they actually are(even more so if you exclude them from your average in real terms). Also worth noting that this season you have played more games at IS than ever before.

Weird move and a weird interview. Bit tight in that press conference, standing room only lol!
Obsessed with beating us, like others have said what about the other 8 teams? As usual time will tell.

They are obsessed with us! It's hilarious! The press releases between us and them differ massively as we base ours on the league as a whole. There is a distinct lack of respect for the other teams there.

Obsessed ? he's signed for the Steelers yet the thread on steeltalk has 7 pages and your thread, even though it's in no way connected to your club is 11 pages long, who's obsessed ?? With the problems in Belfast and the fact they have now lost thier coach (and probably a couple of players our way as well) then who will be the main contenders next year ? Answer = Panthers vs Steelers Unless something drastic happens its not realistically going to be any of the other 8.

Also worth noting that this season you have played more games at IS than ever before. As Helen posted a few pages back. Take away the Ice Sheffield games and the Erhardt conference games and the attendance average is still at 4200. That's an increase of around 700 just for the games against the Scots and Hull. Going the right way.

They are very fixated on the Panthers which will bite them when the so called lesser teams show up and knock them off. When you fail to respect your opponent you just add that extra incentive for them to beat you.I hope that happens to them as their arrogance towards all things not steelers is front and centre in everthing they do. ,

Answer = Panthers vs Steelers Unless something drastic happens its not realistically going to be any of the other 8. And people call Panthers fans arrogant... Never never NEVER write off the other teams. It's arrogant, it's short-sighted and it can come back to bite you. Like in the Play-Offs quarter-finals for the last 2 years, eh? You do remember that you only barely won your last league title on a tie-breaker, don't you? And it wasn't ourselves or Belfast that were tied with you - it was the Cardiff Devils. There's a lesson for you...

We have two league trophies remeber that one we one in 56 too. Plus you may have 7 titles but you've probably gone bust the same amount of times to get them ;D

To be honest, I don't even know why we're complaining about it. If you're happy with your team only focusing on us then so be i! I'm happy with ours using our motto of "1 game at a time"

We've won it 4 times We've won it 4 timesssss Without going bust We've won it 4 times
Back on subject, completely different character to Finnerty, will be interesting to see how he does. I'm all a bit "meh" on it at the mo.
I'm expecting a big challenge from Braehead next season, assuming they don't change their coach another 3 times. Fife are making really good progress too and will be up there. This is Cardiff's last season at the BBT so you'd expect that place to become a fortress again. And Coventry improved this season, if Thommo lets Sodastream do his thing, they could be challenging again.
For me that leaves Dundee, Edinburgh & Hull to fight out the last playoff spot.

A lot of posts on this thread are from clowns who support other teams. I doubt there are many fans from other teams posting on yours.

Whilst I expect a much better challenge from Braehead this year I just can't see where you get the idea that any of the others you mention will get anywhere near actually challenging for the league. You only have to look at the massive points gap this year. Those teams, whilst they will take points off anybody on any given night, are as far away from challenging for the league as they ever were. Especially if some believe the spin that your budget will be massively bigger next year to give yourselves a chance in Europe. It's nothing to with being arrogant, it's to do with being realistic. You, possibly Belfast - depending on other factors, Braehead and Sheffield will only be the realistic challengers for the league next year. Anybody saying anything else is frankly blowing smoke up the backside of the other teams.

I see Henry has found himself a new home.
Good luck with your undermining of the Sheffield ownership on somebody elses forum. Shame you couldn't finish your crusade on the forum of the team you supposedly support.

You can't just say "beat the panthers and we win it" Belfast showed that this year by winning the conference title, yet it came down to games against the Scottish teams that lost them the league.

Stingrays will have to improve quicker otherwise it'll be a long season for them I feel

i just love Irony one steeler says we are obsessed because this thread is bigger than the one in steeltalk, little realising that this is because we dont go into the Steeltalk thread and clog it up with post after post about the cage, can i suggest that the two or three steelers with issues go set up another forum or step away from the keyboard, because their childish spats are boring the life out of this thread.
As for the arrogance of it only being a 2-3 horse race next season at best, why, Braehead improving all the time, Cov under a different coach might surprise a few, Cardiff always dangerous, all the Scottish teams in my opinion improved during the last season, and will continue to do that next season.

Absolutely. Andrew1972 - I told you all to pack it in with your own little personal feuds... and here you are carrying on with it. Consider yourself warned - keep the Steeler infighting off this forum, take it somewhere else... or take yourself somewhere else. Proper debate & discussion are welcome - that kind of stuff is not. And the same goes for you, Longjohn33...
