Maybe Adam Harding could help out... Actually, yes - that is a much better example! Thanks for the reminder of a great CLEAN open-ice hit...

if lepine doesnt turn out to be the player the majority of panther fans expect him to be he will be slaughted on this forum you know it and so do I We all know exactly the sort of player Lepine is, the previous 2 seasons giving us a pretty good idea.

I love the amount of Cardiff and Sheffield fans who have come out of the woodwork after we've improved our team. I like the fact they want to put Lepine and Stewart done. It means their signing has riled up their fan base enough to come and comment on them.

This is a good signing for you not so much because of his defensive qualities, which are more than adequate, but because it improves the dynamic of your team.
Players will now be able to play freely knowing that there's somebody watching after their backs should things get rough.
I've no doubt Stewart will also be an excellent signing, despite some folks trying to talk him down, but as I mentioned on Steeltalk, I was hoping the owners would have an agreement amongst themselves not to go down the NHL lock-out route.
Regarding Stewart as a player, he may only be at 75% during games, but he's starting from a much higher level than everybody else in the league and so even if he isn't playing to his full potential he should still prove to be one of the most influential forwards in the league.
It will be interesting to see who gets left out to accommodate him......Galivan?

It could be Galivan initially but I'm not expecting to see the same player sit out on a regular basis. There are maybe a few players who I don't think will sit unless they're hurt (and even then maybe not). Graham seems a popular choice to be "rested" at the moment

Your signing of lepine and stewart hasnt riled me at all, neither have i put either player down, it's your fans who have put some of your own players down and your club who felt the need to improve it's team so quickly into the season, I'm happy with the players we have in cardiff. my post was to ask what happens if either player doesnt live up to the expectations of the fans.

If you want Panthers players with 'impact', then I think a certain Rob Globke might be able to provide a testimonial! But he wasnt the best known name of the eihl, and he wasnt the most talked about player either and he didnt put bums on seats did he, Brad did and thats what i meant by impact.

Probably yes, but if lepine wanted to test himself in the AHL this season will he have one eye on the lockout!!!, if that ends sooner than most people think and the nhl guys return to their respective teams will lepine want to try the AHL again and leave the panthers early?

Obviously tongue-in-cheek stuff goes right above your head... It is purely your opinion that Brad Voth was the best know/most talked-about player... even if it was possible to judge (and I don't think it is) that kind of thing is purely subjective... and I have this nagging feeling (can't quite put my finger on it ) that you may have a slightly biased opinion on that score... Anyway - what's so impressive being the most talked-about or best-known player? So far this season that's Mike Danton, and he didn't even get over here! [Probably yes, but if lepine wanted to test himself in the AHL this season will he have one eye on the lockout!!!, if that ends sooner than most people think and the nhl guys return to their respective teams will lepine want to try the AHL again and leave the panthers early? Ask him yourself - how are we to know either way?

Thats pretty simple to answer if players dont live up to expectations then they are replaced as they would be at any club i would imagine... Jeez and i thought you were on a windup, you will have to try alot harder than that you know...

It seems that if a genuine question is asked it's frowned on, may be because your not used to a question being asked about your team

I would be surprised if it wasn't a 95%+ vote in favour from the fan base

It seems that if a genuine question is asked it's frowned on, may be because your not used to a question being asked about your team He won't leave now to join an AHL team, you don't just get your agent to go around asking if they have any spaces on an AHL roster. Usually via going through NHL summer camp/preseason camps and effectively letting them decide if they want to sign you to an AHL contract.

No, you weren't getting what you probably consider a 'proper' answer because your question, such as it was anyway, was slanted towards your worship of one Bradley Voth Esquire. No doubt any answer not bowing down before the altar to The Saviour Of The Devils would have been dismissed anyway... But back onto the main subject - that being the return of Gui Lepine, for those not paying attention and/or situated in Cardiff - this isn't the one single answer to all of our ills. In fact, the signings of Lepine and Stewart together probably aren't... but they're both a good step forward, and all we can do is wait and see what happens. Personally, I'm going to sit back in my seat and watch the both of them and hope that either or both dish out a few absolutely stonking clean open-ice hits next week. As we have seen Gui (that's Mr Lepine to all you outside of Nottingham! ) do before. Preferably hard enough and often enough that opposition players get renamed something else when they come to the NIC... "roadkill"! ;D

If adding lepine and stewart to a full import roster doesn't sort things then we really do have a poor squad

my post was to ask what happens if either player doesnt live up to the expectations of the fans. I can see the point. Lepine is touted as coming to beat up all the oppostion as well as be a no 1 D man. Stewart will be there to beat up the opposition whist Lepine is sitting in the sin bin and score at will the rest of the time.
