the interesting part of the article to me is:
"the current players “lock-out” in the NHL has put paid to those plans and has opened up a few possibilities in its wake.
Amongst them was a quick-fire return for the six feet four inch blueliner"
does that imply that other things are afoot? or am i reading to much into it? sounds to me that Lepine is just one of a few options that have opened up.

I read it that it had opened up more posibilities to Lepine not to the team

Good news and the mangement can take credit for their prompt action. I did understand from a conversation with GM, the complications with other imports, but wonder what the time scale on this will be, with regard to work visas. Also it will bolster the defence, but Tuma and Beckett weren't exactly being pushed around (and Stevie Lee). Its a start and he should slot in quickly, but there are other areas which need to pick up very quickly as well.

Think this makes our D very very tough. Beckett proved his fighting credentials on Saturday, Tuma was looking for a fight half the night (although taking stupid penalties in the process), Steve Lee has shoelwn hes happy to drop them if he fancies it and we all no what Lepine can do. This at least for now does weaken us as a defensive unit however. Although I think Tuma will turn out to be good in the end if given a chance

Best. News. Of. The. Season. This is what we've been crying for! He may not be the best defence man ever but he looks after the lads, won't be letting anyone go unaccounted and will put the intimidation factor back in the NIC. Other teams will not be happy and that's how I like it

Wow! that's impressive, Corey injured last night, new player brought in today. Joking aside, I am not sure how this is good news, as Lepine is not as good as Corey, and as Saturday proved, Beckett and Tuma looked capable of giving the smaller players some backup (not seen a player downed with one punch, as Beckett did with Goertzen on Saturday, since Selmar on Rowe). Also on the bullying issue, that apparently stops less physical players playing, Rob Lachowicz was knocked flying by a dubious hit from di Diomete last night, but it didn't stop him from scoring in the heroic comeback!

Be interesting to see if the showboating antics of the likes of Keefe and Didiomente (sp?) continue with the big man back on the ice

I think this will be a trigger point for big improvements from the guys who have disapointed so far, having a known and respected deterrant should give them licence to play a bit more freely (hopefully). True that Beckett can handle himself, but i think Ling will start to 'enjoy' himself a bit more knowing there's a bit more beef backing him up, I would assume the rest of the lads will grow in confidence not having to look over their shoulder all the time. A step in the right direction so this move should be applauded. With the character we showed last night i feel a lot happier about the coming games .... I guess we'll just have to wait and see?

Brilliant news for me - I agree with others above that Lepine's presence on the ice will boost every single player
That should also mean K-wall hasnt got to throw punches again as well
Lepine should be an extra import - if and when Corey is fit and back playing then if we want to get rid of a player replace them as well dont just run with enough imports as we always have injuries to deal with
Leave out whoever is tired, injured or out of form - have options

"GMB Panthers Liveþ@GMBPanthersLive Belfast Sheffield and Cardiff have been lucky so far! No Lepine's back they will all get back under their shells"
So that was the sole reason, we lost to Shuff, Belfast and Cardiff? Dont think so. Richard - dont forget as I mentioned in other posts, it does allow Corey to direct as bench coach also.

Looking at what the players have said on twitter it looks to have given everyone a boast.
Maybe young Lacho won't have to worry about hits like Devin put on him last night!

Great news that it's official. Just hope the visa doesn't get stuck.
Now a power forward please.
