So what number will he wear seeing as he won't be able to wear 22?

Franny will be back with us, I have no doubt whatsoever about that. Jordan tweeted Franny saying they should just call themselves the Gwinnett Gladiators, I assume thats because 3 of our team have played for them.

I also think Francis will be back and announced over the weekend. By the sound of the OS statement Corey and everyone else seems very excited about this player. We shall see !

From what I can tell/read/seen:
He is a goalscorer He puts himself very much in or around the crease and can get shots off at odd angles Plays a left wing role and also logs big minutes on the PP He doesn't fight so I wouldnt expect him to drop the gloves - he is a smallish player at around 5"11 As many have said, very much in the DAB mould and at 27 is a younger option He has switched between the ECHL and AHL but hasnt played many in the AHL and was pretty much a fourth line player He has 0.80 PPG at ECHL level - in compariosn Fox has 0.95 and Francis has 0.61 so should score over a poitn a game

Looks decent but not exactly one to show our intentions...apart from the usual intention not to spend too much.
When we make a signing I always think "how would I feel if Steelers or Giants had signed him?". In this instance I'd feel they'd signed a player to keep the budget down (if they were having a frugal year for a change obviously) - I certainly wouldn't be worried by it.

I don't agree with that, this guy is a top ECHL player and has PPG in the ECHL better than players such as Legue, Guthrie, B.Cook, Fulghum, Bellamy, McAslan, Fussey, Szwez, Shields and so on. He won't be the top scorer in the league but he looks more then capable of contributing a lot on a league winning team

So what number will he wear seeing as he won't be able to wear 22? Would have thought 21 or 13 seems as those are the ones he wore when with Chicago?

The top players in the ECHL last season were getting 1.6 points per game. Coventry's new tough guy Giudice got almost the same PPG as his last season, albeit in the CHL rather than the ECHL. As I say, not bad, but not a signing to have our rivals quaking - particularly considering the calibre of players they seem to be signing. Having said that, he could click in the team and get a hatful here!

No surprise the club apologist Bill jumps to the clubs defence but i tend to agree with DP here if i was a fan of say steelers or giants (god forbid) then i wouldnt be particularly bothered with this signing... time will tell i guess but personally i was hoping for much better. If Francis comes back as well to me that would imply two lower end players signed (even though i like Francis as a player his pedigree implies a cheaper player)....

If Francis and Galivan are our "cheap" players for next year, then i wont be complaining.

Having said that, he could click in the team and get a hatful here! if you look on his team stats he was 2nd in scoring on quite a low scoring Gwinnett team last year. so as opposed to comparing him to players from other teams which may have had numerous AHLer who have dropped down and significantly helped their line mates put more points up, Galivan was a top scorer on a Gwinnett team which did reach the playoffs. im happy with htis signing, the recommendations given show he is a top end points scorer as to be classed within "the top 1% of skilled guys in the ECHL" is quite a bold statement within itself. add to that playing 24 games in the AHL with 7 points is not to be sniffed at for a supposed 4th liner. im happy with htis signing, i reckon he'll come good and could be a great complimentary player on Foxys line this year.
