bill238, Whether or not the BBL is well run is, to be honest, pretty irrelevant. I'll be honest - I neither know, nor much care. The example link you provided is, as has already been pointed out, a particularly poor choice by yourself, as it showed a league punishing wrongdoing and clubs actually appearing to take it seriously. Which, it has to be said, makes it look a little better than our league. But comparisons between sports are IMHO irrelevant. It doesn't matter whether the EIHL (and/or British ice hockey as a whole) is better-run than the BBL (and/or British basketball as a whole). Who cares? The only relevant issue is how well our league and our sport are run. And the obvious answer is... not well at all. I know that comparisons are used in several threads on all sorts of subjects... comparisons with football, rugby league, darts, snooker, whatever. All irrelevant IMHO. The only relevance is the state of our sport - not compared to anything else, not part of any kind of 'league table' of British sports... but taken on its own. And let's be brutally honest here. This league is NOT well run. the sport of British ice hockey as a whole - at any level - is NOT well run. Let's not distract ourselves from that. Shaggy, That was just an example with the mascot as it was recent and lets be honest, if something happened like that in any league including the EIHL there would have been consequences and punishments dished out. I didn't start the discussion about the BBL either but as I do keep up with it I thought I would comment As for the rest of your comment, I agree and I haven't stated otherwise in regards to the EIHL, I made reference to it in my last comment

As for Simms what to you want the league to do? They stopped him hosting any elite league based events but they can't stop him working for the Steelers and they can't stop him working for Sky as they don't decide who hosts the show - that is down to sky and televideo. Dont the league pay for the coverage?, I was led to believe they did.

They do, this year Rapid Solicitors paid for it I believe as part of the league sponsorship. edit: should have worded it differently, the EIHL contribute to the costs of producing the show but sky pay for most of the production costs

So they can control the SKY work he does then? Sorry just edited my last comment - meant to say the elite league contribute but sky pay for most of production costs. Even if they did pay for it though doesn't mean they could control the sky work he does. Part of the contract could be that they get to choose the presenters

I think I am correct in saying that it is produced by a production company in Sheffield - cannot remember the name. I actually phoned them up to complain about being called a B----- from down the M1 (orwords to that effect) and suggested that that was not appropriate for one of their presenters.

Simms is what he is a vacuous mouthpiece, who thinks he is a big fish in a tiny puddle.
He loves any attention good or bad in fact he craves it, ignore him that hurts him more!

So are we anywhere nearer to hearing what went down? Doubt we ever will be tbh, unless Simmsy pops up on Twitter again.
