I'm not sure, but when Chris Frank was given 5+game at the end, the linesman didn't stop play and only told the referee when play stopped.

Don't think lino's can stop play other than offsides and icing

I'm sure I've seen them stop play and call too many men before.

Got to take issue with this too:- The fights may have been instigated by Frank but , especially with the first one , it began with a Panther players actions. Lee's check to the head and Lepine's high stick on G which resulted in his teeth going through his lip. I didnt see the high stick but Frank obviously took exception to it as him and Lepine dropped the gloves at the same time he couldnt have been charged for instigation. First according to the replay Lee was nowhere near a check to the head the player ducked and as for adams (and he has had it coming for years) the check again was nowhere near his head imho he fell and cut himself poor effort from him to try to draw a penalty that wasnt there and therefore the fights were clearly instigated by Cardiff and an instigated 2+10 penalty should be given as it was last week..... Twice... In fact if we are being picky frank was 3rd man in to Lee so should have had a 5+game but hey ho... So basically what you are saying (About Gerad) is that he wasnt hit by a stick and he somehow punched himself/cut himself resulting in his teeth going through his lip and requiring stitches just to get one of your players a penalty ?? Next you will be saying he had little blood pellets in his mouth which he burst !! As soon as Lepines stick caught him he put his hand over his mouth and went to the floor.....i am not saying Lepine did it on purpose as i genuinely think it was an accident but to suggest Adams did the injury to himself is unbelivable . As for Lee's hit i didnt see it as it was by the boards but was going on the penalty given. Also, you can be as picky as you like, with three imports down i fully expected us to lose by five or six goals...and we came away with the two points . I am more more more than happy with that !!!

Cookies - Thanks so much for your reply...However I HAVE been an ice hockey supporter for 25 years... Ayr Bruins, Ayr Scottish Eagles (Do you remember when the Panthers lost 12-2 at the centrum lol?!), I then supported local junior teams. I also went to Paisley and finally The Clan......So I think I am qualified to judge crowd chants and who gives the team some moral support apart from buying a ticket!! Shame you are far too quick to judge people with just one post! I love ice hockey especially the banter between supporters it gives it the final edge to the game for me. I also know quite a few panther fans and they are really cool. I even bought a Clan scarf down at the playoffs as a panther supporter wanted one!!! That is what it is all about interaction with many different supporters around the league......Yes Mr Black might pay the Clan's wages - but our fans give a fair input also....That is why they have been quoted loudest and best fans of the league when visiting different rinks. We could Teach you a few things instead of you bragging that you know it all already.......stranger things have happened!!
Mon Da Clannnnnnnnnn :-D Roll on Saturday. Take Care - Be Loud, Proud and Keep singing!!! XxXMissTigzXxX

Interesting perspective from NEP - it was the puck that flew up and hit Adams in the face - not a stick at all. "As Lepine and Gerad Adams swung at the puck on the boards, it shot up into the face of the Devils' player-coach which saw him drop to his knees, bleeding.
Once again, up stepped Frank to seek payback and although he came off worse against Lepine, the Panthers man received a double-minor penalty for an accidental high stick on top of his five for fighting, although it was the puck which caused the damage to Adams.
And again Frank was not assessed an additional 2+10 minute instigator penalty.
As a result, Panthers were on the penalty kill and just 13 seconds in, Pierce powered his side back in front (47.55)."

and wrt Lee's 'checking to the head' penalty ....
"In the 29th minute as Panthers were dominating play, they were hit by a harsh checking to the head penalty on Lee, which saw Devils' Chris Frank seeing retribution, but not getting an 'instigation' penalty.

The lino's helped Carson out a fair bit, like with the Lepine call and then on the Frank call for cross checking to Benedict near the end.
Thought Carson was ok, not his best, not his worst game, but we lost the game not him

Nothing more to say on the game, garbage defence and lack lustre performance, like say got sweet fanny adams as that was what they deserved...Carson the clown, well it helps when the DOG penalty is called they put the correct player in the box......There #44 (Vandeke???) was having a right laugh that "he" got away with it!!.....summed up the night.......
