Because after the games in had, you will more than likely be top.. you win everything, I cant see you slipping.. Those games in hand have to be won though. In any case if either of us finish second behind Belfast, it's no better than third. There's only one trophy and that goes to the team in 1st. Agree with you Robbo, people seem to be forgetting Belfast. I think The Steelers and the Giants have to meet 4 more times this season, that is where the title will be decided IMO.

I dont understand all this Heerema bashing he is not a weak link. he plays a simple game well, i think people are just expecting lots of flash stuff because of the level hes played at before. He passes, he shoots and works well against the boards and doesn't give the puck away very often.

Plan 'A' dump and don't chase it......it didn't work,we kept doing it for sixty minutes and it still didn't work. Absolutely clueless tonight, beaten by a hardworking team who gave everything they had, playing three imports short who mustered a grand total of fifteen shots.
What a totally pathetic performance by Panthers,on that form if we dropped down to the EPL we wouldn't win that league either !!!!!!!!!!!

2nd best all night to cardiff
Give them credit they played very well made very few mistakes.
They got a step in front of us and stayed there.
Hope the result is better for us tomorrow.

That's our title over for this year. I'm not annoyed or angry about this because I didn't really expect us to stick the distance anyway. The fact is we have lost to 5th and 6th place over the last week and we will continue to consistently lose the odd game here and there for the remainder of the season. To top the pile at the end of the year we realistically need to win every game and hope Sheffield slip up 4/5 times which at the minute just isn't happening. Cheers Why do you guy's keep saying it's Sheffield that need to lose? Belfast are the team at the top not us, it's them you are chasing. Too much concentration on what Sheffield are doing and not enough on your own game. Far too early to be chucking the towel in. But, you simply cannot have too many more slip ups. Lose tomorrow in Cardiff and you may well be too far behind the 8 ball. Because Belfast are 5 points ahead of us and Sheffield are 4 behind with 6 games in hand. Surely then, basic maths shows that we need sheff to slip up more times in their remaining games than Belfast.

OK first Carson, joke of a ref as usual, both fights were instigated by Cardiff no 2+10 which would have evened things up, also as stated already he wasnt bad just several important decisions which swayed the result in the end (bit like the sheffield game that he robbed from belfast). No penalty on the play then devils scored on the same move to go ahead. 2+2 penalty with 10 mins to go for the winner handed the points to devils etc... As for the game, panthers were duped with a smash and grab performance from the devils, we dropped to their level rather than play the passing game we dropped to dumping and not chasing, poor passing, poor linechanging not enough oooommmphhh from several key players and it is obvious they are better at the checking game and sneaking a win on the break. Well done by the devils but the panthers should have overwhelmed them and didnt. Very poor effort from the team and it was clear the tactics just werent correct blame aimed squarely at the coach who also had a very poor game too... Not sure if this means the league title shot is gone but other teams really do need to put in performances seen against the panthers against both steelers and giants (not roll over as they have done so far this season) and need to take regulation points off them, fraid this just isnt happening, whether its down to refs (ie carson when in sheffield) or just not turning up to play (ie cov in sheff) i cant say but it just isnt happening and without this then panthers season really will be gone. Cant afford now to lose more than a couple of games, personally cant see that happening..

First game been to to this season - Sorry - but was totally unimpressed with most of the lack of performance, Neilson 5 yards slower on ice to last season, couldn't pass his way out of a paper bag, and powerplay we still have no clue how to play one, Lepine went to Box and Cardiff score in 13 seconds, we have 50 seconds left and a 6 on 3 and Cardiff clear there zone twice

I think the summary is we cant pass and k wall is way off form. They dont add together well and we won't win the league, hardly a shock is it.

I thought offensively we looked pretty decent, fore-checking hard and skating their D ragged at times. We just couldn't finish for toffee. Personally I was impressed with Heerema, he actually played the body tonight and his vision is sublime at times. Where we really fell apart was in our own zone, and I am SICK of Stevie Lee missing hits time and time again, then left to chase the two players breaking into the zone that he missed.
I thought we worked hard, but were beaten by a very impressive road game by the Devils. Clinical countering on the break from them.

We are only half way thru the season, and a lot of teams are going to beat a lot of teams, and that can only be good for the league. Cant believe the result tonight, thought we were going to get thumped, but at the end of the day we all need to have a little faith in our team, we have all had our up,s and we have all had our downs, but its still the greatest sport on the planet, whether we win anything or not. As for tomorrows game Lets hope its a belter.

Wannabe dont want to sound harsh but neither coventry or devils will win nothing this season yet panthers havent been able to finish either off, so its likely neither will the panthers...

Very disappointed with tonight's performance Carson was dodgy but the Panthers were worse and can only blame themselves. Mac was our best player tonight and that has to be a concern given how long he has been away? ? Neilson looked our worst player and was directly to blame for at least 1 goal! All told a frustrating night, the devils just had our number!

jambros.. funny how we all see it differently.. I thought Neilson was the best D man (apart from a crappy play on the 6-on-3) , and Lepine/Wilson far worse. Then again if we all agreed then things would be pretty dull eh

Glad someone as said something about the coach and is ability to clear his lines and is overall passing. It's been shocking for a long time. Not just tonight

Powerplay was poor, effort was poor and the lines looked completely messed up.
Felt alot like as long as the dj played 'return of the mac' that was all that mattered.
I am happy to see Macca back but looked alot like the effort that was made to get him in the team did more harm than good. Rhyanen should have played.
Look on the plus side, at least we made it to after Xmas before calling time on the title challenge this year!!!!

How poor were we tonight?. We had no shape, np cohesion and sadly no idea. Our passing was awful. Too many players seemed to be off their game tonight and defensively we were awful. Devils played a great road game and looked dangerous every time they went forward. They were worthy winners tonight. Ok Carson wasnt great but that can also be said about our players. And what is it with dumping the puck time and time again and not chasing it. At a time when we needed a good performance and two points we produced a horrible performance. And Heerema - did he play tonight.

wondering why Heerema getting so much flack on here - he was better than Fox by some way.. Fox tried his moves at the wrong times, gave up far too easily every time they didn't work (which was every time) and made too many blind passes.
