OK, with KSP now out of the picture... any ideas as to who his replacement might be?
In the thread on the main forum so far we've had Koenig (predictable) and Rudkowsky mentioned.
Anyone got any clue?

Could be intersting for the Blaze.
Rumours from down the road is that Thompson is struggling to find a decent NM, and now with Panthers back in the market any decent NMs out there will have a choice of teams to come to.

I think Cody, and I would like him actually! He impressed me last season.

We announce KSP retirement on the same day its announced Nabokov isnt going back to the sharks hhmmmm 2 + 2 = 4756.....although he wouldnt turn up in the playoffs have heard through the old jungle drums we've enquired about TK & CR & tbh would see either of those 2 as an upgrade

I cant see Koenig or Rudkowski coming in for the money St.Pierre would have been on. Purely guesswork, but weve got the jigsaw in place and now a big piece has been taken out.
Penner is a good call IMO unless hes got a team already.

Not too impressed with Penners save % versus KSP.
Couldn't even begin to guess who the replacement is, but my bet will be on someone 99% will say who then read his stats and say looks good/shocking but have no real clue either way. The other 1% will spout the usual spherical objects of thought it might be him, etc.

I guess that'd make sense but I'd like to think there is some flexibility in that to be honest. Weren't we putting up KSP and his family last year + a car? That's a fair bit of budget to play with if we can channel more of that on wages for a guy who doesn't bring his family in tow. It's a pure guessing game though. As I said on the other thread I'd much prefer TK over CR. I hope we don't take Penner just because of the family link, we've moved away from the jobs for the boys recruiting this year and I'd like to see Corey remain on that course, signing the right players, with the right attitudes to be part of the team. There was way too much of a 'boys club' atmosphere last term.

How do you know it will be a like for like replacment financially, Id hope corey spends big on his goalie now , someone whos had good time in the AHL and has been over 90% all career

I would imagne Corey has a budget to work to though, and since he only has one other signing to make, hes either got to cut down the money he spends on the D man, or go begging cap in hand to Mr Black explaining that hes going to have to go over budget.

Wasn't we rumoured with Mike Morrison a few seasons back? StatsAlthough I wouldn't mind seeing the likes of Koenig here, I would prefer a new face to the league.

Repaid it back in the playoffs though, but yeah, 9 goals in one game is rather shocking, not saying that I want the guy, was just another name to throw in the bag as I do believe we was rumoured with him a few seasons back.

Not a big fan of Koninig but he's a good netty, how were his stats last season?
Think Cody could be a loose cannon with our D.
What about Hirsch?

No thanks. The Blaze may have won the league last season, but they didn't do it against us... and Hirsch looked like a rabbit in the headlights several times at the NIC. 6-2, 7-2, 8-3... we gave them some hefty beatings, and he did not look comfortable at all against us. To be honest, I'd prefer to see someone completely new to the UK.

Yeah but surely being irish makes him a non import!!! Just because he trained across the pond doesnt make him less irish.
Lets not talk about hirsch...we d be looking for his dummy the whole time

Lets not talk about hirsch...we d be looking for his dummy the whole time I agree with you about Hirsch, he seemed to lose his composure a lot at the NIC. However my understanding is that the 'Import' definition is all about where you did your training, rather than where you were born. As far as the new Goalie goes, if I had to pick one from the league last year I'd probably have gone for Rudkowski but I'd rather see someone new to the league; an unknown quantity for us, yes, but just as much to most of the import forwards too. I wonder if Corey can find a NM and final D from the same team last season...

Lets not talk about hirsch...we d be looking for his dummy the whole time Work Permit wise you are correct. Trouble is its his ITC card situation. If his card is Foreign, he's an import. If its British, he's a brit. ITC Card status is determined when you complete your training Or something along those lines.
