Hirsch was quality, just spat his dummy when the D went missing so probably not the best choice for us.
What about Askey? (obviously as back up now we have unlimited imports).

The latter looks quality. Stats and pedigree. Difficult to judge much more than that though.

Bring back Robbo?
Askey was excellent! with a half decent D he would be superb.

Pity Osaer has signed up for another season in Norway, one player I wouldn't mind seeing here. How about Jean-Marc Pelletier to throw into the mix? Could then perhaps bring with him Mathieu BironTo those mentioning Askey, is the guy even playing anymore? According to Elite Prospects & HockeyDB he hasn't played since 2008.

J M-P would be the best nettie in this league without question, saw him twice last year and a signing like that coupled with the 'genuine hard hitting stay at home d-man' would make us very very tough to beat IMO. But, and it's a big but, Hamburg are a big fish in Germany, they will be paying the guy a very nice salary and having been in Germany for 4 years and at Hamburg for the past 3 it'd be a surprise if he moved here.

A choice between Jaffacake and Crumpet? Well, that's how my tired eyes read those names... Maybe I need cake. Anyway, on topic... the term "import" refers to the ITC card. The national association with which you first register as an adult, becomes your home association. If that's not one of the UK-based ones (although I think they're all through EIHA?) then you're an "import". It's nothing to do with passports, nationality, EU common borders etc.

I guess I meant i'd be surprised if he didn't end up remaining in the DEL - although I didn't know Hamburg had a new keeper. He would be some signing if we could get him.

With regards J M Pelletier.... YES PLEASE!! No matter how good he is I do not think I could cope to see Pelletier name on the back of a panthers shirt after the last one

There is no chance of him signing unfortunatly. He will be about 10 times as much as we can afford. He will probably end up in a top league in europe or the AHL

Please say that was a tongue in cheek comment taking the michael out of that panthers4lyf or whoever it was who made that ridiculous comment last season.

If we could afford these two as our last imports that would be awesome! Unfortunately I also suspect it's slightly un-realistic??

I know that having both or one of them may be un-realistic, but you've got to have some fun whilst playing the guessing game, wishful thinking and all that, I did, however, think I kept it a little realistic, I could have easily have mentioned players of a higher profile, who wouldn't in a million years grace these shores.
