I also think it’s quite fascinating to see that people are finding fault with a player for not being physical enough considering the fact no one had a problem with Molin and he was just as adverse to physical contact. I'd disagree there, I always thought Johan got stuck in for a guy of his stature, wasn't afraid to go in and last year he was the best defensive forward on the team. Didn't reproduce that this season though unfortunately. I'd also say the Elite League assist stat has to be taken with a pinch (or mountain) of salt; they always give out 2 on any goal. Steve Lee got one on Saturday when he touched the puck about 3 days before Cameron put it in the net. Saying all that, I guess Gascon is a cheaper player, so maybe we're getting fair return for what we pay him? Who knows. There are guys on the roster who constantly fail to use their physical presence, they annoy me more than Marty, who doesn't have that.

Can Corey retire now please? Why? Serious question by the way Because defensively he's a liability and it seems to be affecting his coaching.

The game last night was horrid. The bit that irks me is that the Blaze weren't that fabulous, they were just the jammiest bunch going - their puck handling in places was as poor as ours and they made just as many mistakes.
Gascon - didn't notice much of him, never really do - is that good or bad I dunno. In comparison to Molin - the difference is that whilst Molin wasn't "physical" like, for example, Bergin, he wouldn't hesitate to get stuck in to any situation which meant that he might win the puck. I don't get the same impression from Gascon. But equally, Galbraith was a bit like that last season - took him till the playoff finals to get a decent check in, but he is a more physical player this season. Bergin - yes his passes are sometimes way off the mark, but on the penalty kills both last night and on saturday I thought he did a good job of clearing the puck, and he never gives up. Dean Smith - total pants! What the hell did he give Norton a penalty for? He obviously decided that 5 on 5 was just too dull for words. Didn't see the Lever's check which ended up in a 2+10 - had assumed he had just done a really effective check, but apparently not. Bam Bams - eugh please no.
I had a bad feeling that we wouldn't win last night. At least we don't have to go back to the Skydome again for a while.

This is nowhere near over. We beat Coventry twice at home(title winning teams beat people at home you know), and even if they win their games in hand then they`re only 2 points in front, thats nothing. Believe

I love it how people are oh so positive about the team they support. Wiki says Support mean back: be behind or defend: argue or speak in defense. Yet most people are giving up or slating members of the team for letting us down etc etc.
Jesus wept we have lost one game against them, we could still have a chance of winning some more games, least we are all of a couple points behind coventry and not bottom of the table hull. Where would you lot rather be?
I dont care if they loose, But I hope they win! Because I am a Panther, through thick and thin.

You're kinda missing the point John. Ok so some one point out what point im missing? Yes i know in the past the panthers have gone down hill after the party season (christmas) but they are playing good and they did last night aswell. Had the ref been a better one and called equal amounts of peno's to each team rather than the panthers playing most of a period with 3 men i think we would have beat them. Also with some of the games to come there is still chance of us winning or atleast closing the gap alot so that they only win by the skin of their teeth. You point maybe that the Panthers will loose the league, my point is i support my team for a reason. The way your lot are talking tish about the Panthers before it has even ended you might aswell go and join Hull Stingrays. Its nice to know the lads on ice are slogging their guts out for alot of people (milkman) to be saying its over before it is.

To be honest though, when youve supported the team for 15/20 years and year on year for the last 10, the team has been one of the favourites for the title, and they bottle it every year, dont you get a bit bored of supporting the team through thick and thin? Slogging their guts out is a long way from the right expression! Milkman isnt a fan of the club I wouldnt say. He doesnt go to many games (if any) and has his own agenda IMO, nothing personal milky. That doesnt mean everyone who is being negative arnt fans, maybe its because they care, that they are disappointed?! The fact is, we are the biggest club in the league, the owner promised we would be "the man u of british ice hockey" when he purchased us, we are barely Liverpool. Its a fan forum the day after we have all but thrown the league away, did you seriously expect to come on here and not find negativity?

It doesn' matter if the ref called more penalties against one team, not giving out an equal amount over the game. Panthers were not disciplined last night, the Blaze were during the latter part of the game. That cost you, there's no point in blaming the ref. Granted he was poor, missed some, called weak ones but he was not to blame for your errors. The players and Neilson were.

I still consider myself a fan of YCC and the Rhinos even though I get to less games than I would like to, and yes I am on their forums too. Agenda, no As you say, the SMG have come out with claims that they have not fulfilled. Imagine how many lifelong Panthers fans have actually died without seeing the richest, most supported club in the country not win a league title.

But still even if you have supported for 15/20 years or 2 years, what is the point coming on this forum saying how disapointed you are in your team blah blah blah. Go buy a coventry blaze shirt if you want to be a glory supporter.
Also its annoying how things could change and people are saying we will loose, thats some fan support right there, so should the Pnthers hang up their skates and do like bassingstoke and manchester?
An what if some one on here tells one of the players how their fans have no faith in them or one of the players actually see all this. What would you do as a player, keep on trying or just might aswell give up because your own fans have given up already.
Look at Hull when they came to the NIC and lost by a miserable 9-1 yet they was still chanting and they still go all over the UK an make the most of it and after talking to some of them they just want to be number 7 or higher now and that will do them.
But no were are currently number 3 in the league with 12 more games to go and have a possible chance of getting the cup and who knows about the play offs.
Loosing battle or not, i will support my own team the Nottingham Panthers. Its about time our own fans backed the players, do more chants and get some bloody atmosphere in the oh wounderful ice arena Nottingham.

Too many
im sick of hearing all this `if you don t go you can t have valid views on anything panthers rubbish, i know a lot of die hard panthers fans who went home and away without fail 10 years ago (when the hockey was half decent ) including me , suddenly tighten their belt/choose to pick their matches etc for various reasons.
Chris is right, NB has failed to deliver his promise, which he made 10 years a go , end of... simples... finedo

Stating we have blown the league title is a little different to "going and buying a Coventry shirt". I get your point, of course I do, but saying we should take Hull as an example of how our fans should behave and using the words "blah blah blah" dont give it any credibility.

Go buy a coventry blaze shirt if you want to be a glory supporter. So blind, unconditional faith in the players on your team is the only acceptable view for a fan to take? I support the Nottingham Panthers, the players are transient parts of that; they get my support from the off because they are on my team, but they have to justify it. I'll always support the team, I won't always like how the players represent my team, and I will complain if they don't reach the standard I expect of players representing the Nottingham Panthers. Maybe you need to ask yourself whether you demand enough for your loyalty to the Panthers? Whether the players who are paid to represent the team you love give you enough back for what you put in?

The same has to be said for the management too. Look at the current dislike of owners at Utd, Liverpool, Pompei. Glory hunting indeed, how long has the OP of that comment been a fan?

Went last night and I thought we played well. However I was standing and some of their fans are awful.. them sticks they had they were banging so hard against the glass i thought they were going to smash it.! hahaha by "sticks" do you mean the balloons the fans were given? tool. i sit the opposite end from the away fans at the skydome but it really does make me laugh to hear some these "observations" from panthers fans. the one about someone saying "better luck next time" being obviously inciteful? as for being smug winners, i fondly remember seeing about 5 grown men in the panthers end giving everyone w***** gestures after the last match. i really hope you manage to stave off your traditional end of season collapse long enough for us to win the league in your back garden. maybe then we will actually have a good reason to be smug.

In fact, I am going to post that gain, maybe in print it will be easier to comprehend.
Panthers fan defects in glory hunting trip.
I never thought I would hear the term glory hunter and Panthers used in the same sentence (huh)
