Dean Smith, oh dear me,that guy must be colourblind cos he can only see red shirts ! Panthers had the better of the first, but the second and third belonged to the blaze because of all the penalties. How the Blaze didn't get called for one single pen in the last 30 minutes in a game like that i will never know. But as a team, the Blaze deserved to win.......just ! As for Panthers, they worked hard but either ran out of steam or out of ideas. Henderson, ive still got to see what he's bringing, cos its not a lot at the minute. Gascon, there's more fight in my grandma.......................and she's been dead for 35 years. You should av fired him two months ago when you were going to Corey and stuck with Finnerty instead of tearing up his signed contract just cos he got a little injury !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUDE !!!!!....i know we rarely agree but its the refs fault ?, c'mon...first half of the second we were on the PK constantly....i think Thommo may have just told our guys NO MORE as some of Smiths ( For BOTH sides ) calls were weird to say the least.. Neilson took a few Pens tonight, which was the opposite of the last game..including the one that lead to the GWG.....

They are bad winners though and also bad losers. Also can they really play music when we call a time out. and im sure there was about 15-20 seconds left when the fight started. And it would be nice if people sang more at games but dont look like they ever will at our rink. the music thats was played in the time out is 'Countdown clock ' music...which is 30 seconds long...ie the exact time that a time out lasts Simples.. ;D why bad winners may i ask ? have to say i was a little disappointed the Panthers didnt go over to your fans more than they did, it would have shown their thanks a little better for the Fans part in the Cracking game we all saw tonight..IMHO of course

As if they are trying to make it hard for the players to hear it.

C'mon Spoons,i bet we must have had 7 or 8 pens called on Panthers between the halfway mark and the end and as far as i remember NONE on the Blaze. I saw lots he COULD have called but didn't. In a chippy, hard fought, niggly game like that,i find it very very very hard to believe he didnt call you for a SINGLE penalty.
But as i also said, the right team won so well done you lot.

They are bad winners because half the time its a win aided by the ref and yet still think they are the greatest team in the world and they do my head in. And panthers only came that far last time when we won. I hate it fans travel to away games and half the time the players cant even go a extra few feet to appriciate the support.

Yeah you do make alot of noise which is good for your team but from where we sit it sounds like the music is turned up even louder than normal and goes over your fans to which just seams wrong. and your annoucer is...well less said the better.

In all honesty, the Blaze played a far more disiplined game then the Panthers. Plus some of the plays that should of been called was not so obvious as the ones the Panthers were called for. It was a fantastic game of hockey. Proper end to end hockey in the first. It had the intensity of a play-off game which i haven't seen in a long time. Why were the Panther fans so quiet? Even when the game was tied, nothing came from you lot which is surprising seeing as you're vocal everyother time you're at the Dome. None of you looked very interested..

Wow... so judging by the reasons i have listed previously and we were at home.....in front of OUR fans... and both sides are fighting for the title.... How ARE we supposed to act if we beat you lot.. ? a slight ripple of applause?, golf clap? a muted 'Huzzar' as we leave the arena ?

Enjoyable game. Thought KSP had a sound game not helped when their first two goals were laid on a plate by Gascon and Corey. Henderson was again quiet but at the moment he doesnt seem to fit the fiesty mould of Bruce as suggested. Still needs more games under his belt to judge. I thought Toneys played like a guy who hasnt played much recently and seemed at times to be used sparingly. All our forwards huffed and puffed but it wasnt to be. Next year maybe.

To the person who said gas Gascon earlier in the thread I'm sorry but I've got to disagree with you. You said your grandma puts up more of a fight. He isn't in the team to add physical presence or what not, so why should we rely on him to do it when we have more physical players in the team. I would like to note that the people who were wanting him gassed earlier seemed to have noticed his form of late. He's something like 5 in 7 and to say he only had three or four before this spell, is saying something and although he's a forward, he isn't heavily dependant on putting the puck in the back of the net so now he is, you can't fault him at all.
Generally I can't comment on either game this weekend because I haven't attended either game but Im proud that we gave it our all tonight and unfortunately wasn't on the right end of the result.

I dont really like Gascon i have the feeling he thinks he is better than this league.
And I dont mind fans cheering the team but its the smug looks on the faces and the comments people say as you walk past and stuff that makes you bad winners...also if there supporting the team you might want to tell them the players are not stood with the panthers fans as thats where they all seem to look. To me thats more trying to rub it in and annoy us that support the team.

yeah but there is supporting your team and stuff and then there is how you act when you win. When you come to our rink if we win i will clap the players and stuff...i not make comments to your fans about it as you leave. I love banter during the game and singing but when i feel we are always hard done by at your arena the last think i want is a smug blaze fan making comments as i walk out.

I do think you are just taking it a little to heart when you dont need to.

Spike.
In this league with only ten imports you can't afford any passengers, guys who only do one thing etc. Every other player works his nuts off for the team and battles,Gascon just doesn't.
He won't go near a corner in case he gets hit,he doesn't want to check back,he doesn't battle hard for the puck either.
Tonight,he lost the puck mid ice, didnt fight to get it back, didnt check back,Coventry went away and ooops we're 3-2 down. He used to take face offs,he doesn't anymore cos he wasn't winning any, christ he's a flippin centre, thats part of his job.
Corey obviously didnt rate him cos he was gone and Finnerty was signed. The only thing that saved him was that Bergy got injured again so we kept him. Then Finnerty signed and he was gone again, then Finnerty got injured and told not to play for two weeks but Corey wouldn't wait that long. So Gascon ended up staying and Finnerty ended up in Cardiff.
Now what happens ? Corey decides we DO need extra grit and signs Henderson. But too late He should have done it two months ago !!!

I think Henderson is probably a lot like Bruce, he needs a tough guy on the team to make him self feel comfortable doing what he is doing. Last season whenever Ndur was in the team Richardson went around acting like he was 10 men, this year however, he's not done that so much and has kept him self to himself more often than not. and lets face it Richardson is not a good enough player to not go around stirring things up and he will admit that he's not the greatest of hockey players and rely's on his gritty in your face style of game. all we have this year is big players none of which are really fighters. If we had McMorrow in our team or any guy like him, bruce would be a nightmare and i'm sure henderson probably would too.

I agree with iginla. And really every other arena im cool its just Coventry that gets under my skin. Everything is horrible the stewards dont like us. You only have 2 songs which is really annoying. Decisons in the games there never go our way and then people make comments as your leaving when your not in the best mood anyway. So i dont think i am taking it to heart.

It's not every Blaze fan though is it? It's a select few that are repeat culprits, every weekend. Nottingham fans have them, Cardiff fans have them every team has them. You'd be hard pressed to find any team in any league that have ''perfect'' fans. So you can't exactly say you're all angels, it comes with the sport and nothing to do with where you're from *for those who call the Blaze fans Coventry fans.*
