My opinion, as I was at the game, we played well, but they just played better. In the last period you could see the frustration on our guys face, especially Neilson. Still think it's not over. We play good, very good hockey, so we could still win the league. (in my opinion that is, before people jump down my throat :-) )

Looks like this is going to go on for about another 10 pages with less than a quarter of the posts having anything to do with the game, and it will be all posters moaning about various players, tactics and each other posters until it degenerates into little more than a slanging match. careful you will have Sambo79 telling you off for comments like that

We don't have a prayer any more. The league is gone.

The penalties killed us. The first half of the game was really good and tight, and Panthers were playing good hockey.
After the half way mark seven straight penalties tired us, and try as they might, they could not get back in the game.
Smith could have called a better game as Blaze got away with plenty, and a number of the Panthers penalties were in retaliation.
The first two goals that Blaze scored were put straight on the stick in front of the net by our own defence. Failing to clear the puck certainly didnt help.
I think net weekend could put the nail firmly in the coffin. Cov play Belfast away and Steelers at home, and we have the reverse games

It was a pleasure to watch, as they both gave their all you should be proud of your team I concur, I believe we both agreed what a cracking game it was when we spoke in the first interval. I believe it is the final nail in our title coffin, but it wasn't for lack of effort, the way the Blaze players and fans celebrated their victory showed how relieved they were to win. Obviously I'm gutted at the result but the game was worth every penny of the ticket money. Finally sorry about the lack of updates in the final period on TCW Live. I had no signal on my phone for long periods, in fact the final updates were added when I'd left the Skydome and had a signal again.

Don't know what you were watching but Fulghum was the one who left the ice holding his face, not Bruce!
As Jono and Spoonerdudes both said it was a cracking game and it wasn't through any lack of effort or fighting spirit that we lost. You could see our guys looked gutted when the 4th blaze goal went in. There are times at away matches this year when I've felt embarrassed by our performances but tonight wasnt one of them.
They did celebrate as if that was the game that has clinched the league title and I know it makes it difficult for us to catch them but until its mathematically impossible I'll keep hoping we can do it!

Sadly I think we've seen our chance go now but it wasn't through lack of effort in this particular game. I really enjoyed it, terrific game, great exhibition of EIHL hockey in my opinion.

Fair enough. I was obviously a bit further away than you, Fulghum was holding his face as well. Still don't think anyone can say Bruce got a battering though.

Still don't think anyone can say Bruce got a battering though. to be fair i never said he did, But was seriously outpunched by Fulghum...i dont believe i have every seen luke so angry before... To be fair to Richardson...i dont like him ( though i do acknowledge his value as a player and respect him for that ) and i was more that happy to see him given a slap, but as he went off to the Dressing rooms following the fight, he noticed that my daughter was really upset ( the whole fight and noise and commotion thing )..and while she was being calmed down by the the Security Lady ( the Valkyrie..lol. ) he stopped and rubbed her on the head to see if she was ok..... Gone up in my opinion ....credit where its due

Bloody hell, the happy clappers are defensive tonight. Do they secretly realize that it's all over bar the shouting.
Hope the Panthers can get themselves up for Wednesday, don't want to give the Steelers anything do we?

Thats a nice touch. Didnt see what started it off though? I assume it was Bruce being his normal self and winding him up?

Also does anybody know how long was left on the clock when they stopped the game? The Clock had already ran down as the fight broke out. You may hate the Blaze/fans but I wish we could get the NIC that noisy. To be fair to them, the atmosphere was excellent and they got the skydome going.

Dean Smith, oh dear me,that guy must be colourblind cos he can only see red shirts !
Panthers had the better of the first, but the second and third belonged to the blaze because of all the penalties. How the Blaze didn't get called for one single pen in the last 30 minutes in a game like that i will never know. But as a team, the Blaze deserved to win.......just !
As for Panthers, they worked hard but either ran out of steam or out of ideas.
Henderson, ive still got to see what he's bringing, cos its not a lot at the minute.
Gascon, there's more fight in my grandma.......................and she's been dead for 35 years. You should av fired him two months ago when you were going to Corey and stuck with Finnerty instead of tearing up his signed contract just cos he got a little injury !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are bad winners though and also bad losers. Also can they really play music when we call a time out. and im sure there was about 15-20 seconds left when the fight started. And it would be nice if people sang more at games but dont look like they ever will at our rink.

After seeing the big lump thats still on the back of Bruce's hand when he was doing the handshakes last night I would have been surprised if he instigated it, sounds like he had no choice but to drop them. As for the atmosphere at the Skydome, its my favourite rink in terms of atmosphere. Its a shame that most of the time I seem to come away disappointed but I love going down there.
