Talk about feeling sorry for yourselves! Get a grip you are still in second place you have only lost a game and you talk about the Steelers being negative at times. Fancy suggesting you think you should change coaches when you are second in the league. Anyway folks, 'Merry Xmas', to all and I just hope we spoil your Boxing day/week-end in the nicest possible way of course!

thommo would never, ever sign for the panthers, not matter how much money you threw at him. he is blaze through and through. while i accept one day he could move abroad and coach in the big time (and to be honest he deserves it) him coaching another side in england would be less likely than simmsy wearing a panthers shirt to bed.

well not there so wont comment on the game except the result was poor and according to Outlaw so was our play, and he is generally right!
So not good enough and we could have gained a few points tonight i think!

Anybody else read the evening post yesterday,Bruces quote "Neilson,D'amour and Larocque are the three best D men in the league". I wouldn't say they are the three best D men in the team. WE have possibly the biggest (in size) D men in the league and who makes the most hits??......the smaller guys on the team, that's who. I can see CN going by the end of the season BR taking over and next season we will be the GMB 'Richardson' Panthers. Now get me wrong I like BR he puts in the effort but if he is the one who is pointing CN in the direction of players to sign it smells of idleness / naiveity on CN's part.

Robbie. I'd say that all these players we sign cos they have played with Bruce are not down to Coreys idleness. It is more likely that any player who has played with Corey and experienced his ego and attitude wouldn't be very keen on renewing old aquaintances with him again as a coach.
So thats why we've got all Bruces mates not Coreys.
Have we actually ever signed a player that played with Corey because i can't think of one.

A couple weeks ago folks on here were talking about benching Neilson so he could see what was going on with our defence and shaky tactics in favour of playing Toneys, now, Richardson the Assistant coach had a couple of games out so could have had chance to take a bird's eye view however it appears nothing has changed.
On the other hand though, better teams have been beaten by the Rays at Hull arena, Giants winning run came to an end there, and on their day, the Rays are tough to beat. The fat lady isn't singing yet but there are still far too many passengers on this current Panthers team...

I think Kims thread about goals conceded says it all. Would be ok if we were scoring 8/9/10 a game but we're not. I like the ethos of being attack minded but to say we are coached by a D-man, supposedly a very good D-man, we ship far too many goals. It's not as simple as just looking at KSP, we allow far too many shots for a start. Toneys remaining out of the line up when Stevie L is unavailable seems, to me, to be plain stupid. But then again i'm not a seasoned hockey pro as our coach is so who am i to question the decisions. On the face of it we seem to be a team full of Bruce's mates who are all far too comfortable.

Its odd that a few folks who weren't at the game last night are being so vocal about the performance of the Panthers which they didn't actually see.
In my opinion the Panthers played poor last night, they seemed to have turned up expecting the win. Once the first two goals went in they seemed to sit back (once again!), as if they were just waiting to capitalise on Stingray's mistakes. Unfortunately for them the Stingrays played a pretty tight game, they were aggressive, their passing was superior to that of the Panthers and they just seemed to want it more.
Some of the Panthers players were woeful last night, with Clarke particularly appearing 'lazy' when the puck went loose. The amount of times he just peeled away from chasing a 50/50 puck in neutral ice had even my usually mild mannered wife ranting.
Panthers played poor, its a game that with the bench they've got threy should have won, but lets not take anything away from Stingrays, they played hard and just wanted it more.

It don't matter who the coach is, or what players we have this happens every year, something at Panthers is not right.

gettin rid of ellis was a terrible decission. he should never have gone. i honestly believe that if he had stayed we could well be on our way to a league title by now. he had the bottle to make hard decission's which corey's doesn't seem to have all the time. and he had a good defencive mind which corey also seems to strugle with. plus he brought us two trophies in two years after building a team from scratch nearly! deffinitly one of the worst decssions this club has made recently, i'd take him back in a heartbeat. well i got that one off my chest Hindsight is wonderful isnt it, but not many complained when we got the infamous under.500 hockey is not good enough quotes on here! Every coach comes into this job with a 50 year millstone around their necks from day one! Until that stops within this fanbase no coach will ever be good enough to deliver anything or allowed the time to do deliver what the fans want.

Rubbish Backstrom, if the coach and players are good enough they will win the league. As I have posted before, something is not right, it happens every year. IMO, it's too easy.

Your saying that 50yrs without the title is the reason coaches don't do well, I'm saying, if you get the right coach, right mentality, right comitment every game we will win the league.

And I am saying because of the doom and gloom comments each season after the first defeat and the stupid pressure from our history laid on the coach and team, that perhaps this adds to the load on the coach and team and creates the wrong mentality, one of fear of making mistakes rather than expressing themselves!
So if perhaps the fans treated each season as a one off, rather than at the first setback come up with the same old negative mantra!
It might help create the winning mentality you and I want.

They lost to the Stingrays last night because the defence was useless, not because of "those negative vibes man."
