It would have to be Mega-Dollar to prize him away from the Skydome. I don't think NB would even think about offering that sort of deal. I've no doubt you're right Alf, but who else who is coaching in this country could do it. He is the best coach in Britain by a mile, if he was our coach I'm sure he'd bring us a title or two.

Do you really believe he would come? Money talks at the end of the day. It does, its what makes the world go round but with him being a director of a club the only way I could ever see him IMO leave Coventry is to try a job abroad in Europe or North America.

Again, I've no doubt you're correct. I'd just like to see our owner and management be brave and try and tempt him.

Thommo, head coach for the panthers, has hell just frozen over,he has a title winnign team in coventry, able to squeeze out victories from his players when they ain't playing well, tonight's game against the giants for example 3-1 up and nearly chucked it away. Ain't no chance of him going up to your lot,as he also has put his own money into the Blaze organization

Hahahahahah........on paper maybe..................in practice as a unit ,absolute cobblers !!!!!!!!!! So how come we've shipped a shed load of goals whilst Steve Lee was on international duty? I said on a different thread that Steve Lee should be given a multi year deal and I strongly believe that. He has everything in his locker to be the best D Man in the league, irrespective of his nationality.

We have lost again i see.
We are making a habit of it dropping points at the most crucial points during the seson, it happening once you can forgive, twice you say well its a tight league but this is the third time panthers have had the opputunity to close the gap and have come up short .
Chances to do this are not i.m.o going to come around too often as the season progresses and unless panthers hit a rich vein of form soon then i think we will be out of the running and looking to second or third place again.
I think we are 7-3 in the last ten which looks good but somehow not good enough.

If we are gonna win the league this year now,we can afford to lose no more than probably three more games out of the remaining 26. That would be a miracle if that happens. There is no chance of that.

Does GM have any input at all to who is signed or not? Can you answer us that question at least?

3-0 Panthers, KSP Shut out, for Xmas! That wont happen until hell freezes over. Tonight we had the chance of going top of the league even if only temporarily. We were playing a team marooned at the bottom of the league having not won for god knows how long. We were playing them on the back of a 6-0 beating where their coach said they had run out of steam. They were players down. A perfect opportunity to show our credentials. What better situation could we have than this. And what happens. We were just plain awful. We Started off the same as last night and looked good value for 2-0 first period lead. Then as per last night we became a defensive joke. Unable to clear our lines, unable to pass to a guy with the same colour shirt. The stingrays looked like scoring every time they came at us. Kalmikov scored his usual goal against us and the flood gates opened. Scrappy, avoidable goals were given away and Im sure their players could hardly believe their luck. Im not sure whether St Pierre doesnt trust our defence ( he has every right) of whether the defence have no confidence in St Pierre(again they have every right). We kept getting back into the game courtesy of numerous power plays but would then simply within minutes give away another goal. Hull hung on and IMHO deservedly so. What is particularly gauling is that they seemed to want it more than our players most of whom looked lathargic. We probably waved goodbye to the league tonight. To be honest too many are not good enough to do so. To say we are coached by a defender it was laughable to watch our team defend so poorly.

You can't blame GM for this one.
We have a team, quality wise, well capable of winning the league this year. They have lots of advantages that other teams don't have too. The faults lies either with the coaching or the players attitude.
And no,before anybody asks,i'm not a great fan of GM either !
