You didn't say it Toothfairy no,but your missing my point. You said you would be wary of Russell's contacts.....I was being sarcastic by saying did you think Neilson did either,so I pointed out he didn't and showed you why. Hey,I know the fans liked him but Mosey wasn't that good, fast yes but otherwise average. If our coach has to go to an agent who works for a competitor of ours for his first signing and takes a basically untried player, then that says to me he is struggling for good contacts. It is well known in the game he is not good at recruiting. Let's just hope our new coach does not use 9 hockey management as well then, and if they do will you treat him with the same disdain as Neilson? Oh, and I'm sure you were wanting us to sign Carl Lauzon, who just happens to be with the same agent. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Contacts.......You think Neilson has good contacts ? First signing last year Evan Mosey, signed from an agent, yes an agent who happens to be...."Hockey operations director" of BRAEHEAD CLAN ! And the same guy who gave us an injured Bob Wren and didn't give us Tanaka or Lauzon. Go figure !!!!!!!!!!!! I'm surprised that with all your insider knowledge you don't know who it is yet.

Have a feeling it will be Adey. If it was Neilson surely it would have been said by now? Adey is working with Premier Sports covering the Workd Championships which finishes today. So makes an announcement from late tonight/early next week quite feasible. Gary Moran's straight jacket has been ordered to stop him interfering.

I'm sure a good British netminder could easily command a higher salary than some of the imports netminders. Kelman said that his Brits at Belfast were the highest earners the other year.

People keep talking about Adey winning the league with Belfast, but he inherited a half decent team there. What did he do for us last time? <yawn>. If Corey goes, which I hope he doesn't being the most successful coach in the elite league era (I know, your last game and all that), maybe go with someone new? We have had a lot of half decent teams over the years and only won the league once.

My point stands panthers sign players at either back end of their careers... injured and washed up... or players no other team wants.. Can't wait to see this year's collection and if GM signs them.... absolute cheap as hell It was not put over very well then, as that is completely different to what you said. As for the likes of Wild, Doucet, Kowalski, Landry, Mosey from the imports we had this season, I am sure the majority of clubs would want them, not had injury hit careers or washed up. And as for the excitement behind this coming seasons roster, perhaps you should just leave Panthers to their own devices, as its very clear that in your eyes they can do no right. Perhaps you should go and watch Steelers with your other half.

Someone has stated that Wild has retired. You what! Is this some sort of retirement home for hockey players in Notts.. when are we going to sign players in the primes of their careers like Sheffield have done with Roy, Forney and Fretter ! Do you actually know how old any of these players are? Roy and Fretter are older than Wild, Fretter over five years older. Just another off the hip post to have a dig at Panthers.

Great post Fishman. He is too old to play for Spokane next season so has to move. Like a lot of players of a similar age in the major junior ice hockey, contracts will have been sorted for a while now. The fact he is going into the ECHL at his age is superb. I imagine that he is gutted not to playing in Eindhoven.

Also think it's not really a problem if players are signed before the coach. In NA doesn't the GM sign all the players and coach's job is just to coach them? And in football, a new manager doesn't start with a blank canvas - they just inherit the players they're given. And at least in UK hockey you can pretty much sack somebody at 2 weeks notice. I don't think it's a problem at all for GM to be signing people - I'd probably prefer him to sign them than Corey to be honest given Corey's recruitment over the last few years. How do you know GM has not signed players? For all we know Neilson might have signed the good ones, and GM the bad ones. Plenty to suggest that GM has previously been involved.

Hotels wouldn't matter a jot Doom,it's just an excuse they use......because 70% of the fans would be able to drive home to either Sheffield or Nottingham. Without Panthers and Steelers POFW would be a titanic disaster !! A lot cant even stand up let alone drive !

Cownie needs to develop his career, and if he will get more ice time at another Elite League Club then it is better for him.
A 4th liner with reduced ice time here compared to a 2nd or 3rd liner with more ice time somewhere else.
I do hope he signs for us, but there is more to it than the fact he has played for us already.

With social media things spread very quickly now. You can see people going on Twitter very quickly after over hearing a little bit of gossip.

Whilst I don't partake of the chant, (I don't find it particularly amusing) I hate the national anthem and will not stand when it is played. I do not believe in god, nor do I agree with the idea of a monarchy and most of all, can see no sense in having immense pride in what was a completely random event (the place of your birth) What made you support Panthers? Do most support them because of the same completely random event, or do they take pride in them being their local team?

With regard to the National Anthem, and the anti Steelers chanting, it is incredibly disrespectful to our troops, and families who have lost loved ones whilst in service.
If anyone were to sing something different in the States, they would be lynched. They probably would be if they did not stand up either.

I don't really understand why people want a show. It's a sporting event. Go to the circus if you want to see elephants juggling monkeys.
The money goes to the league, and if it helps the improvement of the officials then it's got to be a good thing. Would people really want money spent on videos, tickertape and cheerleaders instead of training courses for our esteemed referees and linesmen?

Cardiff would qualify for continental cup if steelers win the playoffs but most of the anti steelers chants are starting from their block.
I think they have taken back the mantle of most hated team.
