so when your "quarterback" on the play bringing the puck out cant make the first pass what hope have we got! Aye, true enough Rich - Corey is on a cold streak at the moment. Our most consistent threat on Saturday seemed to be Krajicek. He could carry the puck out of defence and weave his way through the packed ranks of the Capitals defence, but they always seemed to prevent the final killer pass being made or converted.

Krajicek looked useful, no doubt.... but did anyone else notice that Mopes made quite a lot of good passes and runs? Some solid work from him, I thought...

I didn't see or hear any fickle fans in Rouen, what does it matter win lose or draw. What does it matter? It is a sport and the aim is to win. OK, get behind the team win, lose or draw if that is what you mean but of course the result matters. We go to see our team win (or give 100% trying to at least), that is why we choose to follow a sport rather than a non-competitive form of entertainment.

We will win more, we will lose more, thats sport, take the wins with the losses, taking losses and learning from them is a good test of character, and jusdging by sunday the boys did learn from it.
I got no worries about the team, sometimes the pressure of being undefeated can be a big burden to carry. Its like when you learn something new, like skiing, you start slow because your worried about falling, you may be afraid you cant get back up but you do and once you do it a few times you come back stronger and stronger and your not afraid to push yourself or try something new because you know you will recover, not saying i want us to lose im just not afraid of losing. as my nan used to say, 'what dosent kill you makes you stronger'

Damn right, To be honest I feel a bit better after a shakey weekend than I did on the nights. The team realise they can be beaten and will be hungry to regain top spot. Course thats very optimistic outlook. and its kinda nice not to have to worry about Shuff being the first

- we're only 10 games in, and have had a rash of injuries - Moran, Meyers, Cooke, Petricko, Stevens, Emersic... they've all missed games and Matt Myers has missed most of 2. That has to have had a disrupting effect on the lines and teamwork. - you name 3 players who you think should be scoring more. Perhaps... but all three are players whose main contribution is other than goalscoring:- - Blaz Emersic. Of the three you named, he's the one you'd think would be intended to score more. Yet he's been forced into defensive duties again, which severely limits the scoring opportunities. - Steve Simoes. A checker, line-breaker and aggressive playmaker... and he does it brilliantly. And 3+3 in 10 games isn't too shabby for such a player, is it? - Ryan Shmyr. The harsh would say goon... some would say enforcer. I think he combines the two roles above... he's very good defensively (blocking shots, poke-checks, etc) and isn't too shabby at making space and smashing through the opposition lines. Maybe not a natural scorer... but one hell of a team player. Personally, I'm looking to Stevens (hopefully now recovered from the groin injury) and Petricko (when HE is back off injury!) to light the lamp more. The injuries will have had an effect, but missing the 5th Dman shouldn't affect the offence too much, nor Meyers missing 1 match. Injuries to key forwards will have more effect if you try to send out 3 equal lines though as it won't be obvious who to move up or down. The points you make about those 3 players are valid to an extent IMO. But the fact is most sides, including Nottingham, have 6 import forwards. If only 1 Brit forward is going to score goals on a regular basis then the imports have to contribute. Part of the problem is only having one 'offensive' centre. Stevens has to step it up in terms of points and I'm sure he will, especially if he stays with Clarke and McAslan. However, assuming everyone is fit I'd be tempted to line up this way: Clarke - Simoes - McAslan Emersic - Stevens - Petricko Cooke - Myers - Shmyr But what do I know? ;D and this does go against the intended '3 equal lines' method, but might help create more chances for those on the 2nd line to gain confidence and spread the goals around a bit. Actually having looked at the EIHL website (handy functions for comparing teams goals, points, PIMs etc) Panthers currently have the best goals per game average at 3.7 (take out the Bison game and drops a lot though). If everyone is fit for the weekend (will they be?) it'll be interesting to see how they line up against Sheffield and Coventry, or even if the lines will be the same each night.

My first view of you guys was on saturday, and there were plenty of positives. Meyers and Jimmy looked pure quality, unsurprisingly. Rees looked solid enough, again. Evan looked slightly more solid than at Dundee where I last saw him. And it was a stand-on-your head night for Murphy, so you aint shot shy. Disapointments? I was really looking forward to Corey, but he had no presence with him. Clarkey looked like he was back to last seasons whack and hack hockey. But I'm sure that was a one off.

Captain Panic seems to be just coming into view over the horizon. Time to man the trenches guys, lets try and keep him at bay.
Actually, being serious for a moment, our form is horrible right now. I really don't think we should be panicking, it seems like the players and coaching staff of this club are doing enough of this on our behalf right now.

Not happy with last night, imagne at the start of the season someone saying you will lose to the3main contenders for whipping boys in a row in the week leading up to Steelers home and blaze away, I wudnt be happy for sure and indeed im not.
Ok its not panic stations because we lost 3games but the manner in which 2teams full of "low level euros"(No offence) have totally trapped us at home is worrying, the things we were trying didnt work last night again and its hard to see how we can get it all working before saturday. I fully expected a well drilled demolition of hull last night as a backlash from the weekend games but instead it was every bit as bad, 2nd and 3rd period at least
