The Panthers don't do league titles. Not even Carlsberg can manage that!

I know it's early in the season but so far this season's results seem to suggest that there is no clear challenger to the Panthers. The league table backs that up. Is there a key player at the club who you feel must stay healthy, like in past seasons? Is there any reason to believe that there is a team out there who can stop Panthers winning the league in their anniversary season? Except the Nott'm Panthers!

Right Now.......................... Cardiff. 4pts behind, game in hand. All done on the road with wins in Coventry and Belfast. We beat them down here but it was a close game and overall there didn't seem a lot between the teams.

I wouldn't put money on it just yet. Right now I reckon any of the top 5 (especially Cardiff and Belfast) are still well capable of "stopping the Panthers" depending on exactly what you mean by that.

I beileve that simoes is our key player this season, yeahhemight not be a goal scorer, or that much of a points getter either, but he keep players looking over there shoulder. and he is what we have been missing in season gone by eg a Power Forward who gives 110% every shift

its still anybodys, a lot of healthy teams out there, injury's are bound to be a factor at some point, im not putting a downer on us as all teams have the same problem to contend with, i feel we are more than capable of taking some silver wear this year but we got to fight for it!!

seems like any team can beat any other this season. in late august did you really expect newcastle to be propping the league up now?

Very very early days yet, we should know this after whats gone on before.
Players who need to stay healthy are Mcaslan, Clarkie and Simoes in particular. We have a real chance if they do, depends how we do between december and February, to me the most cruical time of the season

You wanted Sutter, you can keep him, we have super Mac. Its too early to say who ll win what , i wait to at least the festive period is over, so i think its quite a arragant thread heading ( too premature chap) But i went to the Steelers/Caps game on Saturday and it was one of the most lack lustre games i ve ever seen, i never saw more than 2 passes made in any move, PP s were garbage from both sides. What the hell has happened to your prized possesion, THAT open goal miss was unreal, he seriously is not the player he was last season, even his face off ratio seems to have dropped. Whats the betting your first played to be gassed is Gustavson , him and Simoes have come with simular stats from the same league etc, and quite frankly they are worlds apart.

any team could stop panthers at any time
we still and will have to go through a bad run, belfast did last season, but luckyly for them they had already pretty much won the league when it happened
if we are point clear in feburary then it will be awesome butto premitre at the moment, epcally when we have lost to belfast and hull already this season so they have already proved theycan stop us

Like what Tim has said, on any given day, anybody could beat anybody in our league.
Who thought sheffield would take Nil points this weekend against 2 lesser teams (no disrespect intended)

way too early yet to say, christmas always seems to be the crunch time for Panthers.
At the moment i`m just enjoying each game as it comes, and enjoying watching a TEAM play. keep it up lads, its been a long time since panthers fans have been this happy.

Please tell me this is a mistake?? I can not believe someone has posted a thread like this so early on, if you don't win it now they will be burning effigys of you at the NIC for the next 50 years! Look, after arguably your best start ever you are looking good, and most if not all of your lot will be thinking/hoping as you are that you are unstoppable. It will be discussed in hushed tones around and about, but for gods sake, never, never, ever post something like this; talk about putting the kybosh on it!!

In full agreement with Nememsis.
We're looking good - we're not looking unstoppable. No-one is. It's early days yet in a VERY long season.

Only team I haven't seen yet is Nottingham, and I'm yet to see a team which have impressed me. I've got to say despite the number of what looked like good signings in the summer, the standard is pretty poor in comparison to last season.

Us aside Ive seen every team bar Newcastle and Cov this season. I think overall the standard is much better. theres no gaping gap between top and bottom level players and there are no whipping boys. Level playing field pretty much. Best sort of hockey anda great foundation for lots of challenging teams rather than the normal big ones

Still way too early to tell. Belfast have already beaten you once and out shot you on the other occasion. Cardiff are looking very strong. The league could still swing anybody's way at the minute, as others have said, injuries will be a factor. Create this thread when your clear at the top after Christmas.

Whilst there's more to be optimistic about than in recent years, it's way too early to speculate on the outcome of the League.
This Saturday's game against the Caps will give some pointers to the rest of the season - will it be a home banker or a CC hangover?

Anybody! Well they are all gonna try aren't they?
All we can do is keep on giving them our support, on our travels to France the reports say the fans were "loud and proud". So what we need is the NIC to be LOUDER and PROUDER. The Pandas, and the rest of us in block 11, need you all to join in with the chanting and singing etc. Blocks 9, 10 and 12 have started to help and Block 7 certainly do their bit but it would be nice to hear something from blocks 4,5,6, 14 and the library section 15,16 and 17.
If all Panthers fans can show our appreciation vocally then the NIC can become a Fortress. So where ever you sit, DO IT!!
Lets hear the Panthers ROAR!!!!!!

Now let me introduce you all to something called a question mark. When it is used it means that a question is being asked, not a statement made. Did I not say Of course it is early and of course Panthers have a history of being our worst enemy. And of course we tend to blow it after xmas. But RIGHT NOW things are looking pretty good. If the Steelers had started like this people would be thinking, 'here we go again'. Throw in that nobody but Panthers SO FAR are consistently winning and that two teams have no home ice advantage and I'd say it is perfectly reasonable to ask the questions.

Sunny, behave yourself. You've been coming long enough to realise that early season form means NOTHING!! Especially if you're a Panther. If it's March and we're still in this position, i may start to believe we could do something... We've all had our heart broken by Panthers too many times in the past.
