I sat next to his wife and son at the ducks v kings game at the o2 and they were lovely people. I cant imagine how bad they feel at the moment. I spoke to Dave on a couple of occassions but didn't know him properly but still find this very sad news.
This does show how unique the hockey community is though in the sense that everyone knows each other through out the league and how this news effects so many people involved in British hockey.
As for the minutes applause i think its safe to say this will happen even if the club dont officially announce one. However i'd say its almost certain there will be a minutes applause followed by other tributes made officially by the club, like they say, at a later date.

Corey at the supporters club quiz yesterday lead a prayer to Dave which was brilliantly done, brought a tear to the eye. The applause after was fantastic

I've been thinking about what to say since I heard the news on Monday but still can't express myself properly. I didn't know Dave personally but alot of my hockey friends were quite close to him. I stupidly assumed that with his age he would just get better and be back taking photos next season, just goes to show how important it is to live life to the full and enjoy each day we are blessed to spend with friends and family.
This thread is an emotional read and justs highlights how painful the loss of Dave is for so many people.
I am very disappointed to be working on saturday and unable to make the game, please cheer and clap for me.
Hopefully Dave is in a better place than this and smiles down on the NIC in saturday.
R.I.P Dave.

I couldnt let this thread pass and not say anything. I never sadly met Dave but I have brought pictures of his in the past and also a great canvas.
A day saturday to remember 2 great Hockey fans no matter what colours you wear.
Both will be sadly missed

seeing that the players will be wearing the black shirts as a mark of respect for dave , why dont all the panthers fans do the same thing and wear the black shirts as well. would be a very nice gesture for the big guy . what do other people think.

I don't have a black shirt so I will be wearing something black. Perhaps we could have panthers shirts and those who don't have shirts wearing black.

Impeccable silence at Peterborough Phantoms tonight for Dave. And the boys came back from 1-0 down to win 4-1 for him too.

As for taking photos, if you mean during game, I think it would be a little bit unsafe for the players with flashes going off all around the arena.

Well if Pager is up there somewhere, looking down on us all, he can be a very very proud man! 12 pages of replies, over 10,000 views, every club in the EPL and EIHL holding a silence/noise, unity across the country in combined sadness, and hundreds of memories coming out.... Pager its clear to anyone that didnt know you how loved you really were! Its very very rare for anyone to get such a massive reaction to such sad news... But you were a rare personallity and one we shall all remember for many years to come!
Its a very very sad time, but exceptionally moving and heart warming to see such as response to such a well liked man! If I were Pager now, I would be so overcome with the public response, and proud to have been a part of the British Ice Hockey community!
RIP Pager, you will always be with us one way or another!

For a change, I agree with Sambo, however, can we trust people to turn off their flash? I doubt whether some even know how to. A flash close to the action at the wrong time could distract a player & cause injury.
