Also to add some balance i too have met some great hull fans and as i was leaving a couple came up to me to give me better directions to the motorway which on hindsight was appreciated and dont know if they read this but want to thank them here...
Oh and is this the first game where the 3rd period is our worst so far this season, in previous games we seemed to get better in the 3rd not run out of steam....

Thought we played pretty well for the first two periods against a very lively, hard working side. We came out for the third and either thought the job was done or were knackered as we seemed to run out of steam. To blame the defeat on Myers is ridiculous. He was man of the match for me last night, worked hard every shift, good puck control, good passing, well played Matt. I'd have given theirs to their nettie or the number 15, was very impressed with him.
Didn't encounter any problems with the Hull fans myself. I did though think they were very quiet and could have done more to get behind their team.
On the topic of their announcer...how he got that job I will never know! He wasn't taking the mickey at the end, he just had no idea what he was doing. I cant remember one call where he didnt hesitate, read out the wrong name, the wrong number, the wrong call...it was a complete shambles.
Anyway, 1 point better than nothing. Bring on the Giants!

Texpef, we had a similar conversation re Shmyr, youve missed the most obvious one- Gomez vs phoenix! Reputation is one thing but im surprised not more people want to go after him. Its not like hes a knuckle dragger, he got more icetime for panthers than Rizk did for Hull?!
And re MOM I thought there was only Bielik who could have got it, then again I would have given Cardiffs to Smith

I sat in the same block as Lammy and the Hull fans were great all night!
Good fast game, plenty of end to end stuff. We didnt play very well tonight in my opinion and with more composure in front of goal the game would have been well out of sight.
I thought Corey was immense and probably should have got MOM, Lindsey was good but goal 1 and 3 were soft.
My mate won the 50-50, then a bit miffed when he found it to be only 62 quid ;D!

Many years ago, when the old NIS was broken, and Panthers were playing "home" games at Hull, I won the 50/50. It was 90 quid. My uncle was dischuffed. I'd only bought 80p of tickets all season - he habitually buys £5 a game. Having said that, he has won the Panthers 50/50 at least 4 times in 15 years. He reckons he's about broken even, having won about £1900.
We find its more fun to have a sweepstake on how many PiMs Panthers will get in a game whilst everyone gets used to ZT ;D

Why wont anyone fight shmyr? Is this his reputation? Is it shmyr wont fight? i really dont know but other teams hardmen ie rizk and voth to name but 2 will fight anyone but him??? Add Gomez and Campbell to that list who wouldnt go anywhere NEAR Shmyr, but the next game they happily take on Clouthier and Darby at Sheffield. Cant blame them though. He looks mean and is solid muscle! Cornish will be stupid enough no doubt........... ;D

I really can t understand why Ryan hasn t managed to drop em , since that pre season game in Bracknell, id guess he has a bit of a rep, but the guy well impressed me on sat, some of those body blocks when Cardiff were on the PP were immense to say the least. He really wants to play i can now see why he was voted as one of the best enforcers in the CHL now. Long may this sort of attitude continue.

Wondered how long itd take a steelers fan to make it into this debate, your right Clouthier wont back down and it will be a good fight but anyway back to talking about our own team.... Theres threads on the steelertalk forum climbing up Clouthiers behind, both guys are good at their job but dont turn this into a "Everyone is scared of our enforcer because Simmsy told us"debate!

too true mate. Cornish is hard. No one will deny that, yet he got taken down EASILY by gomez, that was even after a steady draw (no matter what tunster says about ducking... I would to if I didnt want to get hit by him!) with Clouthier. What does that say?
Its all down to the night. Mopes took down Norrie last season, Rees took down Rizk last night, McAlsan took on Voth, all were fights were Id have put money on it going wrong for us but all turned out very different.
Clouthier is far from unbeatable, hes flaming tough yea, but not unbeatable.

let me start by saying that i,ve only been following hockey for the past couple of years (i,ve spent all my life at forest) so i,ve only just started to get to grips with it. i was at hull last night with my wife, son and his friend and have to say i encountered no problems at all. a very good following of panthers fans and i found hulls fans ok, nearly all of them gave panthers a great round of applause at the end of a very entertaining game and though losing a 2 goal lead can sometimes be seen as a sin i still got the impression the team gave their all which has'nt always been the case, this years team look to me like they care. however i must say i'm a little wound up at what i,ve read this morning about some of our fans treatment by what was obviously only a couple of hull fans. these people have to be stood up against for the good of your sport thats enjoyed by families. don't take crap stewarding as an excuse to ruin your evening. demand something is done at a higher level. i myself don't mind banter aimed at me but theres a line you dont cross. on a personal note its perhaps a good job i didn't sit behind the goal because if my wife or son had got abused trust me i,d have thrown them out myself. hound bullies out. right i think i'll have a rant on hulls board now I'm with you all the way on that mate. Morons get away with this kind of behavior because they're allowed to, stand up to them. Decent fans can stamp this out if they stand up to be counted.

Sorry to drag this thread back, but I didn't know where else to put it. I am looking for a programme from the Hull game if anyone has one they no longer require. They'd all gone by the time I found out where they were sold. I'm happy to pay cover price if it's in reasonable nick. PM me if you help. Fank yoo.
