I'm relieved that the Panthers got a solid win tonight, because the Lions game was poor... attendance, performance and result (we lost 7-2 ). Alan Levers in goal got MoM and deserved it... which sort of tells the story of the team in front of him. Oh well, let's just hope that's the obligatory pants performance out of the way and we can go back to playing like we did vs Sheffield a couple of weeks ago.

An agonisingly close loss for the Lions tonight... beaten 2-1 by a much-improved ENL Coventry Blaze team, and a whole load of sheer bad luck. I know, it's a cliche about getting bad bounces... but from what I saw (granted, I never get to see all of the game) we just got robbed time and time again by some plain bad luck. Oh well.
Bit of an eventful game, too... 2 seperate fights, plus 2 Lions players helped off after being injured, one washed-out goal for the Lions (which some said was a goal - in and out so fast it didn't get noticed)... it was all happening tonight!
Next home game is Sunday 16th against Telthug, ahem, Telford Titans.

The 2 players that got helped from the ice on sunday. Do we know if they are both ok? I don't have any hard information, but I believe that Lee Kemp (the second player helped off) is fully OK. Not sure about the first injury...

And this Sunday, it's the return of the Telford Titans...
Known not-so-affectionately at times as "Telthug", this lot have been known to get more than just a bit physical at times. Whether that's going to be an issue this weekend or not is unknown... but the Lions are really needing to get the two points, so hopefully it's going to be a corker of a game!
Face-off is 7:15pm in the Olympic Rink.
Ticket prices are as follows:- Adults – £5.00 Students (with NUS card) - £4.00 Children & OAP’s- £3.00 Panthers season ticket holders - £3.00 (Tickets available from the rear window of the box office just before the game)
Edited: Please note face-off change...

Please note that on Sunday, you will not be able to sit in TD's to watch the Lions game. There is an event on in the Arena and TD's is ticket only - if you don't have a ticket for the concert, you won't be able to go in there. This will also apply to all future Lions games. If you do not have a ticket (any ticket) to the game, you will not be able to watch from TD's.

Final score Lions 2 Telford 7. Unfortunately I don't have anymore details as I'm on holiday atm, hence the lack of updates. Patchy 3G coverage doesn't help matters!

Lions lost away in Solihull 4-3 tonight... but under the circumstances, that's not a bad result!
A couple of messages from the Lions management:-
With that kind of ravaged squad... a 1-goal loss is not a bad result! Roll on the home game against Solihull next Sunday... revenge!

As I posted on THF, it was a game of 2 halves and the Lions certainly were the better team in the first 30 minutes. Any team with a short bench are potentially dangerous as all players are in the game and don't have time to think. Things weren't looking good for us until 1 massive 90 second shift from the Barons changed the momentum in their favour (it was the shift where Marcus broke his stick just as I was about to run him through the boards, I still think his stick got scared and that's y it broke!!!). The lions played well and gave us a good game.

Important game this Sunday for the Lions... hosting Solihull Barons, who are with us at the bottom of the league right now (having lost a lot of veteran players, it's a rebuilding year for the Lions).
As the Panthers aren't playing on Sunday, home or away, this is a perfect opportunity to come and have a look at some lads that may be pulling on a Panthers jersey in a year or two... following in the footsteps of (for example) Josh Ward, Marcus Maynard and Robert Lachowicz.
And the Lions could really use your support...
