Might go to this I already have hockey withdrawal, how much is it to get in? £5 Adults, £4 concessions (inc. NUS) and £3 for U-16. Is it on the olympic pad? AFAIK yes, it is. I will find out on Thursday if its on the Arena pad - but that's unlikely. Can you bring your own beer? I would say no, but if you can't see it....

End 1st - Warriors 2 Lions 0.
Face off was delayed as the Lions got caught in traffic due to an accident on the A19.

End 2nd, Warriors 3 Lions 1. Leach with the goal for the Warriors. Larcombe scores for the Lions. My texter tells me it's getting physical, and Warriors have had Sample kicked out - I think for 2x10 mins cos my source is not clear!

Lions lost 3-1. Nick Whyatt involved in a fight but no more details at the moment.
A 2-goal deficit is not too bad, more than we would have wanted I think. Will make next weekend interesting!

Just a reminder of tonight's game!
Lions take on the Whitley Warriors in the Playoff Final 2nd leg.
Lions are defending the title we won in Coventry last year when we beat Sheffield in the Northern Playoff final, but go into the game 2 goals down.
Whitley are going to come into this game hoping to do the double, and it should be a cracking game of hockey.
Face off 7.30 and prices £5 Adults, £4 concessions (inc. NUS) and £3 for U-16.

Do you have to buy tickets in advance or can you pay when you get there?

Do you have to buy tickets in advance or can you pay when you get there? You pay when you get there (at the box office window round the side, next to the Olympic Rink). Tickets for Lions games are not available in advance, they have to be bought on the night.

Yes. Lions lost 3-5 and 8-4 on aggregate, meaning Whitley win the double.

I guess Whitley now want to join the Elite league?

Is there any process of promotion or will Whitley stay in the national league?

No there's no Promotion. The only way a club will move up to EPL is by having the money and being accepted by the League.
There have been proposals put forward for a change in structure for ENL North 1, but what this is I am not sure. The original proposal for 4 Scottish teams to join ENL was rejected, but there have been meetings recently to try to include Fife & Solway. However the Lions were not at these meetings because we cannot afford to travel to Scotland 4/8 times a year as things stand.
I think there will be more information after the EIHA & ENL AGM's in June.

Nottingham Lions are inviting applications for players for the upcoming 2010/2011 season. Lions finished runners-up of both the English National League North Div 1, and the North Playoff Finals.
Trials will be held on the Olympic Pad at the National Ice Centre, Nottingham - on Thursday 29th July, on the ice at 10.30pm. Cost will be £5 per player.
All applications from players wishing to attend the trials need to be emailed to Lions' Manager Richard Blount at nottinghamlions@gmail.com. Please include brief details of your hockey background, including height, weight, past clubs and position played. Please do not turn up on the night without emailing first.
Please note that the Lions are strictly pay-to-play, and players will have to pay their own registration fees, as well as monthly training fees and also coach fares to away games.

VOLUNTEER STEWARDS WANTED!!
The Lions are asking for volunteers to act as stewards on home match nights. We are looking for 5 or 6 people to volunteer, but should only need 2 or 3 each game. There are 14 home games in the regular season, then hopefully the play-offs. So if we got a full set of volunteers, each would likely only be needed for half of the games at most - to be shared out as equally as possible.
Lions home games are on Sunday nights in the Olympic Rink, face-off approximately 7:40pm - but volunteers would be needed to be onsite from 7pm until the game finishes (10pm-ish). Please see the Lions website for fixture details.
Volunteers would be needed for taking tickets and other general stewarding duties. They would need to be 'on duty' for the whole game, but we'd try to make sure that they got one period to watch 'off duty' - although it would be likely that they'd be able to have at least a partial view of the game anyway.
Volunteers would not be charged entrance on games that they worked, but would if they attend other games purely as a spectator.
If you are interested in helping the Lions as a volunteer steward, please PM either Lions Press Office or Shaggy. We would need your e-mail address and phone number.
Thank-you.
