I'm not going to lie, i think i'll still manage to sleep tonight. It's anything but boring though. This is a show set on a magical island with smoke monsters, time travel, mystical healing, guns and fit women. It's like saying that Die Hard is boring. Don't feel bad if you couldn't keep up with it Buster, i'm sure you're not alone you're acting like lost is the be all and end all of tv. you obviously dont know good tv. (holy shizzle, i just typed something as provocative as you did)

That finale was about as much as I could have hoped for. An excellent episode that left me exhausted by the end. It was beautifully put together and I loved that they made it character driven rather than about science and mysteries.
In the end there was no real twist to Lost. It was just an island with extraordinary capabilities. That’s effectively what we knew after episode one. Everything that happened afterwards was just a story of people’s lives in a particular place. Beautifully simple.
In years to come I may consider Lost to be the finest piece of television I’ve ever seen.

There are so many questions on that link that have been answered. If you want to transcribe them off the video, i'll answer them.
I don't know what point you're trying to make though Bust, they always said they wouldn't answer plot points that weren't relevant to the main story.

Completely agree and seeing as there is no definitive answer people will be theorising the show for years to come. Like you I think in a couple of years it will be remembered as one of the true greats of t.v. Imagine in like 5-10 years if they announced that lost was coming back and the answers to the questions that no one can understand were going to be revealed, now that would get me excited

I don't know what point you're trying to make though Bust, they always said they wouldn't answer plot points that weren't relevant to the main story. even i knew that some of those had been answered, and i'd followed lost on blogs for some of it, i just cant understand (admittedly without seeing it all) how people can be content with the ending when it leaves so much up in the air. i wouldnt expect the writers to answer everything, and accept that the ending about the characters continuing their journey or whatever was closure in itself, but it left that much open, dont you just feel a little short changed? the amount of people that do on my facebook and on some blogs i read is incredible. yes leaving an ending open is textbook to create a buzz about something, the sopranos did this perfectly, but its the amount of questions that are unanswered, the amount of loose ties that are irritating. even so, for someone like me who made it up until mid way through/the end of season 3 they really havent inspred me to take up the show again and start where i left off, because they have created more questions and answered less. thats why i think it is futile to start watching again, the questions to answers ratio is well off. in my opinion, there ought to be some level of mystery to a finale, just not of this magnitude.

Not seen any yet, but have it on series link.
When I saw the trailer, I actually thought it was for 300.
Once I have watched a couple, I shall put my thoughts on here.

I saw the first episode of 'Spartacus', and I have to say... I was not best impressed. I certainly don't mind a bit of sex and violence (wouldn't say no to some more! ;D) but I'd prefer it done with a little more... well, realism and intelligence. It was just a bit too cartoony for my liking - pretty much like '300' was. Superficially entertaining, but not much more than that. If I get bored, I might give the rest of the series a go - especially if, as has been said, it does get better - but it'll be fairly well down on my list. I've got a hell of backlog as it is with Dexter, Burn Notice, True Blood, Caprica, Lost , Fringe, Stargate Universe, 24 and Heroes to either start or catch up on! ;D

Shaggy, catch up on Lost. You've missed out on some sensational television. Yeah, so I keep getting told. I also keep getting told (obviously by other people) that it's a load of pretentious crap that's been blown up out of all proportion. Someone must be wrong! ;D I'll give the first season a go, see how it pans out... if I like it, then I'll do the lot. If not... well, there's plenty more to watch.

i wouldnt bother, i gave up at season 3, im not even tempted to start up again because so many people feel let down with the ending. i cant justify investing that amount of time into what i consider a waste.
i would recommend Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad and Treme though

Maybe... but what disappoints some people entertains others. There were a lot of people that didn't like the ending of the re-boot of 'Battlestar Galactica', but I thought it was very well done. I'll give 'Lost' a fair crack... if I like it, then good. If not, I'll move on. Can't say fairer than that. At first glance (at summaries etc) those don't seem to be series that I'd immediately jump at... but they're actually all on my list to give them a go (as in - watch the first 1 or 2 episodes and see how I go from there). I'll get around to looking at them sometime.

I like Breaking Bad, but I feel that Treme wouldn't be quite so opular were it not by the makers of The Wire.
Justified is just excellent television.

i gave up on Justified too, i initially thought it was great but at that point there was no longevity and it was made up of single storylines and no lengthy plot. i like my tv to have a bit of depth rather than something to switch off to for an hour.
hopefully they will have addressed that now. mind you it was good to see walton goggins playing a racist guy again. typecast much?
Giroux, did you act upon my recommendation with justified?

Lol, no. I acted upon a recommendation from a blog called Televisionary. Very clever bloke who loves good TV. Justified may be self-contained one-episode storylines, but they create excellent villains and Olyphant is just mega cool. Wish i could wear cowboy boots.

Shaggy watch Lost, its simply sensational. Ever since the beginning I've been hooked and it definitely hasn't been a waste of time and the ending of the whole series is great.

Shaggy - Lost starts as well as Heroes. Has a flabby bit in the middle and then went all excellent again once they announced an end date.
You might lose interest in the middle but stick with it. By the end you'll be hooked again.
As for Heroes - got about 4 shows left and it has been hard work. Should have ended it after that one brilliant season. It would ahve gone down as a legend.

Heroes is one of the few shoes i've genuinely given up on. It lost all narrative direction, the characters were clearly too strong to write for and the writers were far too terrified to EVER kill anyone off. Just crap, and i'm glad it's been cancelled.
The first season was sensational, but it ought to have then done 'a Skins' and started anew,

While I think of it (because I stumbled over the DVD this evening) there's a Canadian sitcom that I would recommend... A sitcom? Am I mad? Probably... but it's hockey-related! It's called "Rent-A-Goalie"... funny, quirky, somewhat profane at times, and very enjoyable. So far it appears that only Season 1 has been released on DVD, but it's done two other seasons since in Canada. It's not easy to describe, but for the curious, try the Wikipedia article:- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rent-a-GoalieIt's true... goalies ARE bonkers! ;D
