Sons is amazing, though the last season wasn't amazing. The Walking Dead is still garbage. When is Karl going to shoot Shane? Garbage? It might not be what it was expected to be, but it's certainly not garbage. Each episode is well paced and excellently acted out drama. Until last nights episode there was no character development with Rick, compared to the comic, compared to the show, at all. The pace is often slow and nothing really happens in the episode. Take season 2 for example, they found the farm and then up until the 7th episode nothing really happened until the mid season finale and that's when Shane, who is not the main protagonist, killed the hoard in the barn. By now we should have reached the next location (should have reached it at the start of season 2 IMO) and had 4 major characters introduced. As a fan (you probably think snob) of the comics, it has been painful at times but at others incredibly accurate. I just think that if you haven't read the books you would think it was amazing, and yet all the fans who it should be a love letter to are left with a bitter taste in their mouths. On a more positive note, the role of The Govorner has been cast for season 3 which is a plus. If you haven't read the books I thoroughly urge you to buy the trades (TPB) and read up to book 7, that way you can appreciate what a hash they have made of the show (or think the source material isnt what it's cracked up to be!

Did you think Tinker Tailor was slow and boring too? Something being slow doesn't always mean it's bad. I thought it was well paced personally, it was highly entertaining, rewarding and very well cast. 99% of all adaptations are hated by fans of the originals. People out there actually hate the Lord of the Rings films. It's never done how they want it to be done, but quite often it's still fabulous.
The Governer is David Morrisey isn't it? Fantastic casting yet again.
Comic books just don't interest me sadly, one of my mates is well into them. I find them to be a little silly.

Haven't seen Tinker, Tailor, Soldior, Spy, so I cannot comment. Though I fully appreciate the point you are making, I was upset to find that the Scouring of the Shire had not made the cut from source material from The Lord Of The Rings, but I think Jackson did a sterling job on the trilogy.
Dragging out for 5 or 6 episodes the Sofia storyline only for her to be found as a walker was terrible and pointless, especially as she is still alive in the books. It's almost like time travel and how a small minor change will have such a huge impact on future story lines. After enjoying reading the books so much, waiting for them to come out monthly and rip through them in 20 minutes because you could not wait to see what happened next, to have that excitement torn away from the tv series due to poor choices is hard to deal with. It's like Star Wars and Han shooting first and then over the subsequent years watching George Lucas repeatedly screw with something you hold dear. It's terrible!
It's a shame that you don't dig comics, I know they have a bad rep for being geeky, but often they contain some of the best stories around, Preacher, Y the Last Man and 100 Bullets are testament to that. Some great content expertly told, it's a shame that it's not accessible to more people. I really think you ought to give it a try, I know most might see it as silly, but you don't know what you are missing!

Also, Morrisey looks to be cast well for The Governor. Americans are moaning that he won't do the character justice and criticising him for being British. Shame some of them don't seem to know about where Andrew Lincoln is from! Haha.

The film version of Tinker tailor is good but the original TV version is better the same thing with State of Play as well and Edge of Darkness, when TV do things well it is dam good.

When they killed off Dale last week I thought it was the first non comic move that was ballsy and actually the first and only good decision. I was proved right this week when Rick stabbed Shane. In the comics Carl kills Shane, sets up for so much development for the group, and yet the series makers royally cocked up by deviating from the source material, yet again.
Good tv, awful decision. I'm only sticking around for the potential of The Governor and Mischonne now. They haven't got to the prison and won't this season, I imagine the tv show will write the major part of the story out of it completely. Sometimes I wish I hadn't read the comics so I could watch this show enthused as much as other people, instead of being constantly disappointed.

Well it took 2 whole seasons for the show to reach its potential. The season finale of The Walking Dead was incredible. We saw the first signs of te prison and Michonne. Better late than never

I like the graphic novels and have done since 2005; TV versions are always different and certainly no complaints from me about the TV series.
Don't see why you're whining to be honest.

Because the tv show has been a long drawn out affair with terrible plot decisions being made, along with poor character development. That's why I'm complaining. TV versions are always different does it make it right? Let's look at The Punisher, Watchmen and V for Vendetta. All legendary cult followings, all transition to screen have been ruined by not following the source material. Even Kirkman said about the TV show that this was his chance at a 'do over', he is no better than George Lucas for messing things up that were perfect. You think I'm whining? If you have read the books, I think you forget the high standards that they set. In short, you like pretty things over content. Reel me in, because you just got a huge bite from me.

If tv series and films all followed the original scripts to the letter, I doubt there would be any point in watching them.
Everyone who reads will build up a picture of what they think the character will look like, and many will have different interpretations of how they will interact with other characters.
I have not read the comics, but am really enjoying the series.
I've just watched the first two episodes of Alcatraz on Watch, and that looks good to me as well.

Alcatraz looks interesting, sons of anarchy is amazing at the moment and the new series "touch" looks good to after the first episode

Breaking Bad is currently the best thing on TV. Season 5 has really upped its game.
I'm behind on 'Louie', I'm still watching season 2 but according to websites season 3 is slaying it.
