Oh my god. Half of that is a rant about them not telling us the videos can be longer than 30 seconds. Management not telling us that the scoreboard can do videos of longer than 30 seconds is not an example of communication problems between management and fans. It is actually a complete and utter non-issue.

I use the scoreboard to check how longs left on pens, in the game and how longs left for the break. So whether it played a 30 second video or whether it plays blu-ray dvds doesnt make any bit of difference to me

Although I do like having a video scoreboard as I think it help add to the match night experience if done properly. What I do not like about the match night though is that the clock for period breaks does not start straight away and it gets annoying when a period break lasts well over 20 minutes a lot of times for no reason other than they do not start the clock. If they are worried about not getting the ice done and dry in time cut the length of time the kid gets to skate round for. There is no reason the clock can not start at 15 minutes and let the kid skate round for a one minute routine leaving more than enough time to get the ice done. or even do what they do in the NHL if they feel like they do not have enough time to do what they want to do within the usual 15 minutes and start the clock at 18 minutes at least that way you know exactly how long you have until the puck drop.

And did you see the state of Lepine's shirt on Wednesday night? Creased? Looked like it had been stuffed at the bottom of a damp kit bag for a fortnight. With the money Black makes he should be able to get an iron and give it a quick run over.
But what can you expect from a club that signs players with one eye and nine fingers. Who picks these people? Pathetic. Sack the lot of them. Get some fresh players in with a new coach and a new GM. Change the music, ditch the cheerleaders, and that bloody carpet they roll out for the MOM awards. Who picked that? Don't they know it's the Nottingham Panthers. You wouldn't see that at Sheffield. I heard that Moran got a load cheap. Expect to see it auctioned off at the end of the season, and some happy clapping chocolate chucker paying £17squillion for it. I'm not getting a season ticket while ever I've got a hole in my bum. Woeful. End of. Simples. (cont. p94)

It may not necessarily be a burning issue, or an issue at all in some peoples eyes, but the fact that the club has told you something which turns out wasn't true should be what folks take away from this as far as i'm concerned.

On the intro, did I blink and miss it or was there a glaring omission? I didn't see number 22's picture? Surely to God we cannot have cobbled this thing together so quickly that we missed him off? Or did I just miss it?
Nice to see them using the screen but intro was awful on the whole. Coventry on the ice whilst Brainbug is left to go on and on for it's entire 6 minute stint before a rather lacklustre, although aesthetically pleasing, video intro. Where's the talk of years of history, the Ahlroos goal commentary layered over the top. If you are going to do it make it loud, intimidating and inspirational. Or, if you are the Nottingham Panthers, welcome the opposition with a polite intro and clap then stick on a low key intro as your players skate out. Smacks of a rush job to me.
As other point out these may well be 'minor issues' in comparison to our poor league challenge but they all contribute.

Either the screen can do video or it cant, it's only limited by the computer providing the information surely the screen is just a load of LED's which light up? A computer only capable of producing 2 mins of video would be shocking. It's all rhubarb, I tell you!
Where was 22? where was the bench clearence video? Good start with the intro, now just improve it, frig give it to the students to design as a competition or god forbid, give it to some pro's.
Also sort the narration and music out, I didn't understand a word?

Also sort the narration and music out, I didn't understand a word? Glad it's not just me who can't hear a bloody word that is spoken at the start of the video intro. It's about as incoherent as a Galbraith in Belfast.

Agree with your final 4 Jono and most of the comments. The only things I see a bit different to you is that I reckon Cardiff will win both games and that the Blaze will at least keep it respectable.

So sorry isn't enough when a club official slags off a set of fans. Fair enough, but when it was the Panthers announcer slagging off Newcastle, the appology seemed fine. Double standards. Not that I really care. Panthers fans are very touchy about what is said about their club - what simmsy said crossed the line, but even the slightest 'they are a bit arrogant aren't they' comment and it gets jumped on. Meh.

Difference is Rangers that Ken apologised there and then over the microphone to the people he offended. Simmsy as yet hasn't

Has he had the chance to appologise over the mic to teh people he offended?
Don't forget I'm agreeing with you - he did cross the line and action should be taken. He might appologise on the Sky show, he might appologise at the playoffs, he might not. But give him a chance.

E-mail to the Panthers or Nottingham Post, re-printed on the website. Job done.

Double standards Sorry, but I have to respond to that. Ken, like me, is not a club official. He is a volunteer doing what he does because he loves hockey. He had only been doing the job for a few weeks when he dropped his clanger, which was a spur of the moment thing. He realised he had done wrong and at the start of the next period announced an apology to the whole arena. He has done nothing like it since. Dave Simms was for many years the general manager of the Steelers and is the national face of the sport on the only television exposure we get. We have put up with his gospel of hate pretty much since day one, and now this. Not a spur of the moment thing from a volunteer new in the job but a clearly premeditated outburst from someone with a high profile in the sport, which he compounded by claiming his remarks had been taken out of context. He's got away with it. It will happen again. Hockey will be the loser. Worst of all, I have no doubt he is chortling as he reads this.

the solution is simple he insulted us center ice , he goes and apologises center ice at the play offs not only to us but to the many good folk up the M1 as outraged as we were! Shame they could not state that in their own forum!
