It seems like most people have written Evan off and focus on everything negative they can find no matter how insignificant. That's a mistake.
In the game against McSorley's Swiss team all I have seen are comments on how he let in 4 out of 5 on the shootout at the end. (This was added for the crowds entertainment and was meaningless). I haven't heard anyone mention that he must have done a hell of a job in net to hold this team to a 1-0 lead over 30 minutes. How about a little credit too.
In the Bees game he has been given credit for making some good saves but people still seem to want to focus, and judge him, on the soft goal at the end of the game. It is tough for a goalie to stay focused only facing this amount of shots, it was a meaningless game and the outcome was not in doubt as the Panthers were leading 5-1.
Give him a few league games, and he's like any goalies he'll have the odd off game, and then form your opinion and don't just base it on his off games. I've seem him play enough to know he is a quality net minder that comes through in the tough games.

I'm not going to have a pop at Evan, I like him as a nettie. Lets face it he had a half decent return (89.4%) in the original Racers team, who often were just target practice. In the CHl last year is was 92%
However...I hope someone ties him to the net because he did a lot of wandering around at Bracknell, aka Sunberg.
If netties want to wander around the ice they should be outskaters. Netties stay close to their nets-period.

yep... i noticed that as well... spends far too long really far out.
Ive seen a fair few get posted by jody like that. I dont want to see the same. He never seems in any rush to get back either.
Leave picking up corner pucks to the D men in most cases please!

Point proved. You are going to wait and see but there is something...................
Some netminders can "wander" and be very effective at it. From what I have seen of Evan he is one of them.

I must say after tonight....
Still stands quite tall for a big 5 hole.... glove side is a bit iffy....
But up close he really blocks shots with every part of his body. Its long range shots that need to be wary of, and picking up rebounds, hopefully the D can deal with that.
