Last holiday was 3 years ago to Venice. Amazing place that I would happily go back to again and again. This year like last year, my holiday will be spent on tour with my band

I found New Yorkers to be amongst the friendliest on earth - it's certainly a damn site cleaner than our cities too. Completely agree. I love New York.

Going to canada in oct for 6 days taking in montreal, ottawa, toronto and niagara falls- can't wait Blimey all in 6 days? You're packin it in a bit aren't you?!!! Niagara Falls is THE most amazing place - my fave place in the whole world (though obviously I've not been everywhere!). Make sure you do a Maid of the Mist boat trip if it's still running when you get there. I want to go back when it's all frozen up - the pics of the iced up falls that you will see when there look amazing. I went when the majority of it was still frozen and it was beautiful. Only thing i didn't like was as soon as you step back from the actual falls, its a bit skeggy-like, with arcades and stuff!! I'd still go back in a heartbeat though

Oh what a small world!! Shorty..... Your first post rang alot of bells in my head. A collegue at work has just come back from Turkey, having flown with Thomas Cook, explained to me that he had to vacate the plane to recount luggage... Hmm.... Im guessing you were on that same flight. Don't suppose you remember the Flight code do you? I have booked my Orlando, Florida holiday again for next year with my rents and my fiance. We always go with Virgin (don't know why... seems better ))..... Only this time it'll be my 25th so im taking the opportunity to swim/train with the dolphins. Its costing alot in all but I think it's worth it. Some might say im a bit too old for Disney but I reckon, no matter what age you are, the big kid always comes out of you!! Anyone else been lately and visited the Dolly Parton Dixie Stampede? I went last year, it was awesome!! Im totally gutted to find that it no longer exists anymore. Anyone else got any thoughts on that who has previously been?

Not sure of the flight numbers, but we flew on Thurs 1st May in the afternoon, around tea time. It did seem a bit of a cockerel up all round. It seemed that we had been waiting for an extra passenger, and then this old boy turned up and apologised for being late. He then got off when they said the baggage was being removed, but was taken back into the terminal, and never came out again. Very strange.

I went to the Discovery cove 2 years ago. had a fantastic time. it is limited on how long you spend with the dolphins but, well worth every penny. As for Dolly Parton's Dixie Stamped, we didn't go but had to pick our tickets up from there for Universal the first morning, seemed nice but I am not fan of Country or Dolly (or even cowboys / westerns etc) but I couldn't see why it wasn't doing so well.

It was also my hubby's birthday the day we went so the people made it even more special than it already is...... Have to say i loved the Disney parades, like you say brings out the child in you!! Last year we went to Kefalonia (totally different) relaxing, hot & sunny, clear blue sea loved the Island especially the North where we stayed, absolutely beautiful views. We did our "dream holiday" earlier in the year, like many visited Toronto (to watch the Leafs) and New York (NYR and NJ Devils games watched). Found Toronto fantastic however didn't go to Niagra as we chose to walk to the Rocco to watch the Marlies...New York, fantastic experience would go back just for the shopping!! All in all have been very lucky........

We saw The Marlies as well. Duke The Dog was an awesome mascot. Being towed behind the zamboni on a skateboard and throwing frizbees into the crowd.
The game itself was pretty intense, and with it being a small arena, you get a lot closer to the action. Very physical as well.

I went camping last week near Dunwich in Suffolk - gorgeous campsite with access to a deserted beach and nearby heathland/wetland. It was beautiful & definately intend on going back. Went to Heidelberg, Germany to visit a friend a couple of years ago, another beautiful place - I highly recommend it. Not too expensive either, cocktails in particular were quite cheap & food was nice too. Would help if you knew a bit of German though, as whilst the locals do try and help you out, not many seemed to be fluent in English. I was quite lucky that my friend was fluent in German. I'm hopefully going to be visiting the same friend in Florence, Italy around September/October time. But depends on funds etc. as I'm job hunting at the moment.

We are off to Barcelona in a few weeks. Anyone been there, or know of anything we should be going out of our way to see?

Well nobody went away in June! We are off to Barcelona in a few weeks. Anyone been there, or know of anything we should be going out of our way to see? Have been lucky to spend many days working in Barca, loads to do as well as the touristy stuff like the Familia Bascillia (sp) Zoo, Aquarium, Fountains which are all must see's, spend your evenings down at the Marina or bay areas, or if your flush at one of the pavement bars on the Ramblas (fantastic main drag). A tour round the Camp Neu is really cheap, as is the Olympic Park for anyone who remembers the pool that overlooks the whole city. Take a T10 bus to Casteldefels Playa, a fantastic locals only beach, but the gem is at Sitges 25 miles or so away, there are plenty of buses that can take you there, its a holiday down, mountains on one side beach on the other, one of the gay hot spots of Europe, but don't let that put you off, I have been looking for a place down there for over 2 years Sitges

Casting wistful glances back at Nuttys photo of the Lake District - I could use a bit of that weather! I'm off on a flying visit to the Lakes but looks like I'm in for some very wet horse riding! Ah well, will make a change from all those years of walking and climbing in the wet! ;D

Been twice (98,03) , fantastic city, could certainly live there.
Very vibrant , both times have been in the summer, id like to watch Barca play if i went back there.
Theres not a lot at the olympic park, well in 98 when i was there lol but does give great views over the city as its high up.
The barcelona underground is one of the easier undergrounds ive been on too, i recommend it as its a must to get around .

Ah well, will make a change from all those years of walking and climbing in the wet! ;D Chucked it down on my recent visit to Kendal - made all the worse by the b&b owner informin me that they had only had 3 days of rain since Easter!!! Typical that it rained so much we even had a severe weather warning when I was there?! Happy horse riding - I've just recently taken it up again - have realised I have no balance and I want shorter, fatter horses! ;D

Barcelona, I went there about 5 years ago.
My vist there was interesting, although the city is great, we did get into some 'scrapes'. 3 members of the group were robbed at knife point, 1 during the day. Everytime we walked up and down les rambelers at night we were offered drugs on every corner or the chance to see a 'lesbian show' LOL We heard the was a bar called 'robin hood's bar' so i asked a copper where it was he said he didn't know and advised me to go and see a sex show instead???nice.
I also went to change some money and inadvertently walked into an armed police stand off.
appart from this i quite enjoyed it. I found it much nicer away from les ramblers, some of the gaudi architecture is superb and the segrada fammilia is a must see.
just don't carry loads money on you and look out for yourself.

Message for Higgy here.......
Watch the Mozzies in Menorca.
We got back on 27th June and were bitten to pieces. My last count was 40 bites.
I took some Boots spray along which was big pants!! Buy some Citronella stuff on the island or buy some Autan (sp?) from Boots (also available on the island)
On the plus side though, amazing weather - 30+degrees every day.
