So Milan win the CL.
Liverpool were really unlucky to lose that game, Milan were nothing to write home about.
Inzaghi is possibly the most overrated footballer in Europe, to see him win the CL is vomit worthy!
Unlucky Liverpool but let's not cry heh, losing the CL final is not tear worthy, until you've hit the lowest of lows like Forest and Leeds there's nothing to cry about. I hate to see fans of teams losing major finals (unless they are small teams) crying...it's not like the team have hit hard times.

That's football for ya, two years ago we weren't the best the team but won, this year we are but lose. Milan were bad, and got extremely lucky. Inzaghi justified his starting spot with that world class finish to win them the cup in the end. Rafa's mistake = taking of Mascherano, one of, if not THE best player for us. We was keeping the attacks at bay, we take him off and Kaka puts the ball through. I have no doubt in my mind the game would still be going now if it weren't for that mistake. Well done Milan, unlucky Red Men. Least it wasn't the bore fest of the FA Cup final...

You need luck as well as skill to win finals two years ago we had the luck, tonight Milan had the luck it evens out in life. Can only wonder what poor team has you for a fan.

Old man, pack it in. Honestly, give it a rest. We are allowed to dislike a football side, it doesn't make us a lower grade of human being.
you lost, you weren't really the better side at all (although it was a pretty even game) and Milan were infinitely more clinical and creative than your lot. Not a touch on the Istanbul game.
Before you recycle the old one, i'm not envious of Liverpool in the slightest. I'm pretty satisfied to see Liverpool lose due to the sheer amount of plastic scousers in my area. Only roughly 5% know anything about the game and only turn up for the big games. Same applies for the Man Utd fans, and even Chelsea (bemusingly).
Milan took two of the few real chances in the game. Fair play to them.

Pidge isn't a Liverpool fan so he is amused by Liverpool's failure, what exactly is wrong with that? No need for the personal abuse is there? There will be many Englishmen raising a glass to Milan because they don't like Liverpool does that make them bad people? No of course not. Come on oldman...that is a serious over reaction. Liverpool lost, coming in gung ho on Pidge for a bit of ribbing sounds a lot like sour grapes which is a total contradiction of you "knowing how to take defeat line".

Every pundit, including Ruud 'I love Meelan' Gullit said we played better. We created more chances, we were more attacking. Milan were a shadow of the team in the 2005 final. They looked old, tired and out of ideas apart from hoof it up to Kaka and see what he can do. Fair play to them though, they did put away what few chances they had, credit to Pippo. But to say that was an even contest, is a joke. Can remember one thing Reina had to do, apart from pick the ball out of his own net twice?

oldman ill never want liverpool to do well in any competition, end off, I despise the club always have always will. And alot of fans are with me on that one.
As a spectacle it was a dire final , alot worse than 2 years a go. I didn t liven up until that real footballer Paulo Maldini lifted the cup ;D
And besides their fans have done more harm than good for football in this country .
And besides Im more Italian than scouse

There's a difference between taking defeat and taking cheap snide comments such as some of the above.
I don't understand how you can "despise" a sports club. I'm usually happy to see Man U (or Sheffield Steelers for example) lose, but I wouldn't say I "despise" them. And I think I'd prefer either of them to beat foreign opposition.
I might dislike certain individuals within a club, but I just don't get this whole club hating thing.

Inzaghi is possibly the most overrated footballer in Europe, to see him win the CL is vomit worthy! Spot on there. Clarence Seedorf runs him a close second in my book, two footballers who must have the world's best agents. How he's won 4 European Cups I'll never know.

I wouldnt say Inzaghi is all that overrated, he does a similar job to Owen in that he is on the pitch to take his chances and that is all. I think he does it well. Clarence Seedorf is pure class, that is why he has won 4 european cups.

Well unlucky Liverpool, the killing blow was the goal before half time, otherwise I would have thought Liverpool would have won it. Inzaghi is possibly the most overrated footballer in Europe, to see him win the CL is vomit worthy Very true can't stand the player, his brother may not get as many goals but his alround game is much better. Milan took two of the few real chances in the game. Fair play to them Oh yes Upshall, great teams always find a way to win when their playing bad, Milan did that.

Back in the Day, Seedof was awesome to watch, he had the vision the skill and nack for finishing. Now his just old and becoming a jurney man.

TBF you didn't really test dida all night, you had alot of the ball and did nothing with it, it was an even game, milan just played it different to liverpool

You may been the better team but you were both poor. If you were going to keep trying the long-ball then you might as well start with Crouch. As you say Rob, it's all swings and roundabouts. Milan deserved the win in 2005 so now they have their trophy. Took them two years to win the trophy they deserved. Just like Bayern Munich did in 2001 after they were robbed by the Mankers. Liverpool need to spend big in the summer if they are going to compete with Chelsea or Man U. And Arsenal too. I'm sure they will. Villa and Alves would be good additions. Teves would do well at Liverpool and also suits Chelsea. Eto'o would be perfect for Man U. Torres is another one who fits.

If the Steelers were in a European final I would expect Panthers fans to support their opposition.

that is were we are not the same upshall, had united or chelsea been there instead of liverpool i would have wanted a british team to win, just as i wanted arsenal to beat barca last year.
As a fan of the game i cannot understand why any english person would not want a english club to do well against any foreign team.
Pidge 's post is to me totally the sort of comments that give football fans a bad name,
As for the game good luck to milan they were the better side two years ago and lost, we were slightly the better side last night and lost. All it proved is a lot of the £40.000,000 we have to spend will go on strikers.

I was gutted for Liverpool last night, & I agree that I would always want a British club to win... with the exception of say Derby County. I am guessing Pidge feels the way about Liverpool, the way that most Forest fans feel about Derby.

Steelers alreasy have a big stick to beat the Panthers with. If they won that they would be able to throw it in Panthers faces til the day Panthers also won the Euro Cup. It's what Forest fans do. It why Liverpool fans bang on about 5 times. It's what Celtic fans do to Rangers fans. It's 1966 and all that. It's why I fully understand why fans often support foreign teams. It's why I wanted Bayern to beat Man U. And it is why millions of Germans wanted Man U to beat Bayern. I bet as many Italians wanted Liverpool to win yesterday as English people.
