It appears Mark Dutiaume has left Bolzano in Italy and seeks a return back to the U.K. and is strongly rumoured to be coming back to sheffield, with possibly him and the imminent arrival of Jody Shelley, how much do people think this will improve their team?

They might be able to "turn over" Basingstoke with a bit more ease ;D

On the other hand, he might not be going back to Sheffield. Who knows where he'll end up?

He could always be coming back to the UK to play with his brother - at Fife I think Sheffield have completed their fixtures with Fife for this season, so no chance to see Dutes against Steelers this season, IF he was to join them. It would be another kick in the teeth if he didn't join Steelers. If he did return to Steelers, it would certainly give us a better yardstick to compare ourselves with the old enemy.

That's a good point! I'm sure that I remember reading something about him going to Fife to join his brother earlier in the season...

He could always be coming back to the UK to play with his brother - at Fife That's entirely possible. He left last time because he didn't fit back into the team after a month or two with injury. Before that, he was absolute dynamite on a line with his big bro'. There's nothing to stop him returning, especially given that we're apparently signing an import forward in the next wee while. Not sure how likely it is, but it's possible.

Thats a good bit of news for the Steelers...bad for everyone else, but Sheffield and their fans could do with a bit of luck! Hope he makes a difference...but not too much !

Take heart - may be a case of the "coach maketh the man...." Remember Scot Allison? He didn't do much without Blaiser. Mike Peron not doing so well this season either come to that. So Mark may not recapture his form from last season. Good for the league that a player of Dutes quality is coming back - just a pity he's going to Sheffield

The Italians certainly weren't impressed. His reasons for leaving were that he wasn't seeing enough ice. Since we can deal with the best that their league has to offer (Milan) I'm sure that he shouldn't cause us too much trouble! (Fingers crossed!)
Nice for the Steelers to finally get some good news though!!
*edit* His stats for Bolzano were 4+5 from 18 games. Meh.

Inspiring the players appears to be something Rob Stewart is totally incapable of doing. Famous last words maybe? Who are they releasing? Anyone know? Or is he currently taking Bobbers slot? Also, after a visit to steeltalk, I did a bit of research and found this on hockeydb: www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php3?pid%5B%5D=20431So perhaps they're getting him as their "NHLer" instead of Jody Shelley?

i think they have still got 1 import slot free (WELL NONE NOW DUTES HAS SIGNED) but before he did they still had at least 1 free space for an import (providing they don't already have 5 Non EU players registered

This guy will be the next Tony Hand....
According to Simms on the Steelers website "Dutiaume left the Steelers in the summer after 3 successful seasons that saw him win a League & Play Off Double, a League and Cup double and a further Play Off Championship. Last season he led the Steelers scoring with 34 goals 44 assists for 88 points."
Somebody buy him a calculator for Christmas please.
Perhaps this explains past indiscretions when salaries were due!
