I predict Panthers to win 4 - 1, a satisfying win, but will take it steady.

Just heard Paul Adey say that Geoff might start the game That'll give Curtis a chance to sit on the bench without his mask on! Only the other day he was saying that nobody got to see his face during the games.... Mr Adey must have been listening

I agree with you there. The chance to take a rest and sit on the bench must be most welcome for Curtis after his heroics so far this season and in young Geoff we have a very dependable back up as he showed last night.

Another good performance from the lads! For me #34, #19, #8, #88, #5 and #77 all had a great game!

A win yes, another boring game to watch yes, The only BNL side that has impressed this year is Hull they actually came to play and try not to be imtimated by the Panthers.

I know he showed a fair turn of speed at the end of the game when he joined the throng congratulating Geoff on his efforts but..... does that constitute a great game? ;D Mind you, the Puck Bunnies would probably think so, a whole game to watch Curtis without his mask.

I never thought a 5-1 win could be so boring.
I reckon that was the most boring game of hockey I've ever seen - especially the first period!

D'oh! Of course I meant #20. I probably shouldn't post before I've had some coffee in the morning! As good as he was, seeing #20 in net made me appreciate even more #34. The way Cruicky handles rebounds and his judgement on leaving the crease are phenomenal! In those areas Geoff has a some work to do - but hey, the lad needs to play much more for this to come. Can't help thinking that he might be better trying to get a #1 spot in a lower league to get some game awareness. What do other people think?

As I predicted (OK, I was one out) the guys took it steady/easy, no injuries or stress, just winding down for the spanish break.
When they return all refreshed, that's when the action will be displayed.
All in all, a win is a win, well done Panthers, 7 in a row!!!

The Caps have one of the lowest budgets in the BNL according to one of their fans whom I speak with regularly, so I don't think the outcome was ever going to be in doubt. What's the point in Panthers busting a gut when they were probably certain they'd win anyway. I enjoyed the game & it was as expected. Good performance in supporting Woolhouse, who looked...how can I put it...shaky at times, but overall I think played very well. Put enough effort in to win the game Here's the post write up of the game---> link

#34 had a great game Martin?/quote] Well, it takes co-ordinaton and concentration to get that bench door opened and closed throughout the game... ;D

That's a bit unfair on Edinburgh...... what can they do when they have several injuries? - make up the numbers with younger players. That's what they did, and they tried damned hard under trying circumstances. The Capitals DID 'actually come to play' - and they didn't seem all that intimidated. They were simply outclassed.... but tried anyway - so no shame to them.

I thought james neil had a good couple of shifts although did anyone see his check at the end the other guy didn't move but neil bounced off him.

Applause to Paul Adey for not only giving ice time to Neil & MacWilliams, but also even giving them time on the penalty kill in the 3rd period! It's not often you'll see a coach (under any circumstances) put 'untried' players on the special teams......
And well done to Geoff for his first win this season - did you see how fast Curtis shot off the bench after the final hooter to go & dive on Geoff and congratulate him? ;D
I don't know what it is.... Steve McKenna plus other factors?... but the team spirit seems to be top notch and getting better all of the time. This can only be a good thing.... VERY good! ;D

Last nights game was about what I'd expected, an easy walkover with little exitement. Edinburgh in standard obviously were nowhere near the class of Panthers, yet fair do's to them, they came out and played:)! Thought Neil played well when he got the chance, he looks like hes going to be a very good player. Craighead once again looked desperate to score, and seemed to link up with Ivan and Kalmikov fairly well. Any idea how many people where there, i'd guess around 2,700. Good persistance from the Mexican wave starts in block 5 ;D, didn't quite work aswell as at the Darkness the night before...but i thin atleast 12 people got up . Finally, mention to Woolhouse who seemed solid, although obviously a little shaky (can you blame him).

I thought we won comfortably and didn't really have to get above 2nd gear.I think the lads who guested for us put in maximum effort.A PP goal and a short-handed breakaway (Coolly slotted by Kalmikov,Anton )and a good performance by the 'house' in goal.If i was being really picky I would say that with one or two too many of his saves he gave up rebounds, but he'll get a lot better with the experience I'm sure. One political point about the crossover games if I may is this. Why does it always seem that British players are awarded MoM for both teams.(I wasn't at the Fife game so I don't know who got what)But was their #4 really their best player on the night.BTW clarke deserved ours IMO
