My main concern about Sean McAslan is as quote from Nottingham Evening Post Aggressive, feisty....would that means a lots of trip to Sin Bin or to be throw out of the game due to Game Misconduct. Shall look forward to that! But look at his peanut minuets in his stats. he is only picking up around 60-100. he may be aggressive and feisty but they never said he was dirty. like many of our players thy can hit hard, but 9/10 they hit cleanly.

at least we have a match for players like voth and payette, players that can have a good chance blowing them away on the ice or toe to toe in a tussle, only concern is wether they can adapt to the ever changing rules.

I like the look of him, someone who will complement the speed of Stevens and who'll b willing to go to the net and pick up the scraps. Good numbers in the ECHL, to put it into context McAslan had 33 goals for Long Beach, the season before Cardarelli managed 23. Hopefully that puts the sniper quibbles to bed!
Played AHL with some very good players as well, playing in the AHL during the 04/05 lockout season means he must be highly thought of. Had similar 04/05 AHL numbers to Eric Beaudoin, who had a brief spell at Newcastle at the beginning of last season and is held in very regard.
Throw this back at me if you will in 6 months or so, but I can see McAslan scoring 35 goals this season, especially with Neilson supplying the passes on the powerplay.

Well, I think you've got a good un there. I certainley wouldn't be dissapointed with someone of similar ilke filling one of our remaining 3 slots.
McAslan V Tess? who knows, I can only go on what I have seen; I like most of you I suspect have only seen Tess; so I will reserve judgement until I see this guy. If he is as good as or better than Tess, that can only be good for our game as a whole; so who can be unhappy at that?
We will announce one of our forwards on Tuesday, if he is anything like this guy is on paper I will be chuffed.

I think Mike Ellis has got team toughness sorted this year. Like Mike Blaisdell said last year.

looks a good signing lets hope we can keep him all year. Let's not even go there Dody! Absolutely! Although Mike Ellis is extremely hot on loyalty and commitment.... it is to be hoped that he's picked guys who won't skip out on a team mid-season (you could tell at the Q&A that he was SERIOUSLY not impressed with Tessier for doing that!). BTW, nicked from Matt The Stat on THF - Sean McAslan's stats from last season, including some stuff not found on hockeydb:- Reg Season: Games: 66 Goals: 28 (9 PP, 1 SH) Assists: 28 (11 PP, 1 SH) Points: 56 (20 PP, 2 SH) Plus/Minus: +6 PIM: 107 GWG: 1 First Goals: 6 Shots: 267 Scoring Percent: 10.5%
Playoffs: Games: 7 Goals: 5 (3 PP) Assists: 3 Points: 8 Plus/Minus: -3 PIM: 31 First Goals: 3 Shots: 25 Scoring Percent: 20% I especially like the PP points!

Funny that Shaggy 'cus I was just thinking 'good, we've got a guy who can score at even strength'!
Very happy with this signing, another complete hockey player by the sounds of it - I really do like the look of this Panthers side.
Would have liked a few more points but I wont complain as the scoring is going to be spread out nicely, and I fancy Clarkie to have a very big year.

Seems like an excellent signing! I'm a bit behind having just completed my move to America but I'm chuffed.
If the new stay at home D'man is big and rugged we're well set...I like the look of the team Ellie has put together, I'm excited to see it.
