how hard would it be to put that in official statement on there website and teams own sites, stop all this worrying, i mean there's a thing in customer service saying keep your customers informed and they will be a lot happier, that is certainly the case with this i feel, im sure this sponsor they maybe holding off for would be ok with that, its all just so frustrating at the momant.

Not quite sure what the link is between fixtures and a league sponsor to be honest. They seem to me to be two quite separate issues.
Announcing the sponsor is an external PR thing - a marketing opportunity for the Elite League and the actual sponsor. The fixtures are simply an administrative matter for the clubs and fans to plan their schedules for the season, not of much interest to anyone else or to the media I wouldn't have thought. Why not just announce the fixtures when they are finalised (although I use that word with caution based on recent seasons) and announce the sponsor when that is done and dusted? Seems to make sense all round to me.

Wonderful...
Just e-mailed the panthers office to find out if they have some incling of the fixtures for 16/17 Sept as I have been invited on a hen weekend and need to know ASAP as I go on holiday Thursday. The response....
To me it seems like the fixtures are confirmed from the "we have not released the fixtures" comment - does anyone else think so?

But IAN is quite right. Keeping your public informed is good PR. It would avoid all the 'maybe's'....till they can give us information to the contarary (sp?) the fixtures and sponsors are seperate issues.

THink your right in that fixtures are done and dusted. So confirming the Belfast and Edinburgh games to allow fans to get THEIR season underway would not cause officials too much trouble surely.

Glad to hear you even got a reply.... I didn't regards another topic. MAde an offer to the club but when they are not bothered it even extends to not even replying. If things were a little different with our good support the attitude would certainly be so.

I was told to call back at nine tommorow by the NIC booking line, not sure if this is general advice or an inkling of fixtures in the pipeline.

This is why hockey is a minor sport and always will be. If we can't do things like this well we have no chance in gaining more public interest if we upset the loyal fans like ourselves.

Does anyone know how long the Thomson logo/ad has been on the Elite League web page? Is Thomson the sponsor the league have been waiting out for?

i dont think that Thomson are the new sponsors, you would have thought that they would have been at the top of the page, rarther than at the bottom of the page below other ads, argos...specsavers... etc

My comments from a previous thread:
I think its quite unproffesional for a so-called 'proffesional outfit' like the EIHL not to have fixtures released yet.
Of course one can say that its because its dependant upon arenas giving ice time availabity notification, etc, but other sports, eg basketball who are dependant upon a 'third-party' don't seem to have such problems.
I think if anyone outside the ice-hockey fratenity (or indeed within ice-hockey) are to take the Elite League Management Board, and hence top-flight 'proffesional' ice-hockey in this country seriously the board really needs to stand upto the plate and start demonstarting that it can be taken seriously.
The fact that a sponsor may or may not be announced should not delay the fixture release
But hey ho usual Elite League Management Board attitute..fans - who cares, they will look after themselves.
Regards
HL
