Just wanted to post a quick comment about the two sides. This game isn't about Nottingham or Sheffield, it isn't about who wins or who loses or by how many, it isn't about who gets the bragging rights for the next year. What it is about is raising money for charity & to have fun doing it. Don't get me wrong I'd expect both teams to want to win the game & I'll be highly surprised if anyone playing was of a different opinion. It doesn't matter to me that some players are better than others. Every player is as important to the game as any other regardless of ability or experience. The whole ethos of the game was that it was for anybody regardless of their experience & it saddens me that people want to withdraw because of a percieved difference in standard. I hope those that had doubts do re-consider but if anyone has any queries then please, PLEASE, contact us either by e-mail or PM so that we can hopefully allay their doubts.
If anyone does want to drop out for whatever reason can they let us know as soon as possible but at this late stage it may prove dfficult to find replacements.
On a lighter note keep a look out later for some very exciting news regarding the shirts!
Thanks,
Paul (on behalf of the Rink Rush team)

POWERPLAY JOINS THE RINK RUSH
The Rink Rush team are proud to announce their largest ever sponsorship deal. Powerplay, the Great British Ice Hockey Magazine will be the banner shirt sponsors of both the Nottingham and Sheffield teams in the Rink Rush Challenge Trophy.
All shirts will now carry the Powerplay banner on the front of the shirt. The final shirt design is still being finalised but promises to be something very special indeed.
The Rink Rush team would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to Powerplay for their support of this event.

For a girl i wont say I'm a bad player but I'm not saying I'm the best. Everyone works well withing the team no matter what they standards are. It just makes me mad to think that some "players" actually think they are too good to play for the Rink Rush. For god's sake, its a charity game and we are trying to raise money here to help people, not to make your heads even bigger. We don't need that sort of players (attitude more like) and I think that we are doing really well right now to care about the so self named "professional players" not bothering to play. Just think about it peeps, think why you signed up for it in the first place and then reconsider. Your place could have been taken by a more committed player... no matter their standards!!!
Remember, its not about who wins, its about how many people we can actually help that matters. (Obviously I want Nottingham to win but......!!)
Oh and by the way, Jono is doing pretty good!!!!! ;D ;D

Pantherslady,
The arguement isnt about players thinking they are too good to play, it was the sheffield bench moaning that certain players shouldnt be playing because the Sheffield bench thought those players were too good. For example i know one guy thought it was very very unfair that i was playing as i play for the Lions.
There isnt any 'superstars' out there saying they are too good to play in the game!

Excuse me, there has been nothing said on the Sheffield bench about the standard of your players. Yes we might have jokingly said, omg they're really good. But I've not heard anyone say so n so shouldn't play because.... that is not within the spirit that the game was intended.

A few of your players did approach the organiser of your team about possibly dropping out. They may not of said it publicly, but it was definatly said! Thats why i told jono after that i would only play at half the pace i played at on the training. Im playing the game for charity, not to pick up the puck and not pass it and try and skate around everyone! and im sure the other lads in question will be the same. Its not a dig at you Helen, but something was definatly said, and not just in jest!

Ah, Jono did mention something. We're in danger of not having enough players right now. But I know I personally haven't heard anything mentioned on the bench. I think the guys who pull out cos of the standard should be slightly ashamed. We are not playing because we're good, we're playing to have fun. I have been seriously hurting after every training session I've been to, just ask any of my mates, but I've been having serious amounts of fun.

As one of the newly appointed and v,inexperienced coaches on the sheffield bench,I won't hear of any mutinous talk by my team or I'll make you all wear tutus ;D All I want to see from both teams are great big smiles because they are having fun for a great cause and alot of cameraderie with all the other players! And don't worry i've seen what the other lot have to wear if they step out of line! ;D ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Mrs Nem
