Could someone please shed some light on what this Rink Rush actually is? Basically we're 6 ice hockey fans from Nottingham who decided to try & raise some money for Cancer Research. Last year we travelled to the home of every senior men's ice hockey team in a week & this year we're doing this. More info can be found on our website. Its a bit messy at the moment but that should be sorted soon & the player profiles (& pictures if you e-mail them to us) will start appearing shortly.

Im confused I'm not quite sure what you mean but if, for example, you raise £100 you need to send us £50 of that by the 8th July as the reg fee & the other £50 after the event. Does that make sense?

I see the Sheffield team have arranged a training session. Does anyone know if the Nottingham team are planning the same?
I have to say that Sheffield do seem to be taking the game very seriously, "celebrity" coaches for the training session & stuff like that. I thought the idea was that the game was about raising money for charity not about who wins. Sure we want to beat Sheffield but at the end of the day does it really matter who wins as long as Cancer Research gets a big cheque at the end of it?

the idea is having fun while doing it... and in the run up. Looks like the ice time cost them a bit of dosh...
They are just starting the fun early

Chill out folks!! We are not getting all serious honest. The training is a get to know you for us all and just a few drills. Mike O'Connor and the Rocket have kindly offered to come and show us a few basics. It is open to all comers, if you can, come up, there is nothing secret going on. Yes the ice time is costing but it will be well worth it and lots of fun. A lot of people can't even skate very well anymore! And I have never skated in nettie boots or with all the pads on, I bet I will hardly be able to stand or move to start with, so this is just a getting used to it type affair.

Well I'll certainly be there (as long as England don't reach the World Cup Final!). Any others fancy the trip up?
