Unfortunately, the mascot for the Nottingham team has had to withdraw. If anyone out there knows anyone who wants to do this please let us know. The only criteria are that they must be under 12, have their own skates & be able to skate. There's no registration fee but they will need to purchase a game shirt. As usual it's first come first served so let us know asap.
Thanks,
Paul

Noooooo! Sponsor me ;D I have had to join the Steelers roster for this punch up ... er ... I mean, feast of hockey because BJ stole my beloved #58 and is wearing it for you guys. Hopefully Simmsy will give me a good write up and I know Whis and Elly will have their scouts in attendance. I could be the free scoring forward you're looking for or I could be a cut price Zamboni as my regular falls seem to polish the ice nicely! You could really help me and Cancer Research UK out by visiting my website and sponsoring me here: www.justgiving.com/theloneracerAll donations are secure and sent electronically to Cancer Research UK. If you are a UK taxpayer, Justgiving will automatically reclaim 28% Gift Aid on your behalf, so your donation is worth even more. Please join me in supporting Cancer Research UK and a fabulous cause. A quid is fine! Cheers!

The majority of the player profiles are now online here. Discover Sheffield fans' favourite Panther, which Sheffield player is out to get Rich & why Jono72 once got arrested in Poland (one of these isn't true). If anyone has set up a justgiving.com page then let us kow what it is & we'll add the details to your profile.

I was going to suggest to Jono that I would like to video the game. If someone can do copies (I will endeavour to get everyone in) peeps can purchase a slice of themselves for the charity.

Also posted somewhere else in the forum, but thought id put it here aswel!
Just a suggestion for game day guys. I think we should run it like an under 10s match if there is going to be a forced change system. So every 2 mins the clock stops and the hooter goes or someone with a claxon marks the 2 mins. Coming from a playing point of veiw, this would be a lot better otherwise we will get a situation where players will clock watch coming up to the end of 2 mins and make a pass in the direction of there bench to gain an advantage. Plus, as i have seen today, when you shout change, not everyone stops and doesnt touch the puck. You will get one or two who will make a final touch to get the puck in the direction of their own players. Also. a whistle and stop of play would mean a face off, which in turn means that the attacking team will keep a well earned advantage. The final point (shut up i can hear you shout) is that you will all get more playing time, as you wont be wasting 10seconds+ everytime you have to change.
Coming from a referee's point of view, whoever refs the game will more than likely have under 10s experience as this is where most officials have to start. Playing an under 10s system will mean that we are playing a system that the referees are used to. If we just have a free for all once we come to the line change, it could all start getting very messy, and potentially cause an argument (e.g. he touched the puck after the 2 mins, thats not fair!!! lol) Under 10s hockey takes around 2 hours to complete a game, not bad me thinks!
If this is the style we are already playing, then i appologise for having a bit of a rant, but from what i heard today you guys are planning on following the system that we trained with.

Just to follow on from Luke there, he makes a valid point. We watched again from the rafters in IS and it did seem that some were ever so slightly ignoring the shouted changeIts a damned good idea to run it like a 10's game and will make things far fairer. All the best whatever you decide.

While your out there was well it can be difficult to distinguish if its a shout of CHANGE from the bench or someone shouting on the ice. (No matter how bloody loud Mark can shout!)
Definately need an airhorn or buzzer... or play like luke has suggested.

I'm taking my famed horn on sunday, to see what difference it makes. I think someone was going to take whistle but not sure if that would work.
I know there was one rink that whenever they wanted a change they rang a bell. Maybe thats the answer, lol.
