Will our world rankings go up or down now? We played so well, definitely should be ranked higher than 20th. It should go up. We finished the tournament ranked 15th of the 16 competing nations but the weighting system from previous years means that overall Russia and Belarus should still remain above us. So at as rough calculation I think we'll be 17th.

I thought we were 18th in 2010 in my old international guides but somewhere more like 20th in the 2017 IIHF Guide and Record book for 2014. Czech v Swiss for Gold then in 2024

Impressive win for the Swiss Yes it really is, especially after losing momentum in the 3rds. From the games I attended in the group stages this year, I would say they were the team that impressed me most with their play so It’s good to see that’s translated to going deep into the the tournament. It’s also nice that the gold and silver are going to be contested between 2 of the “different teams”. The atmosphere in Prague must be superb today & will be fever pitch tomorrow.
