panthersnationThe Stars sign a Hobey Baker nominated NM to be their number 2 and to push for the number one spot. Looks like a bit of a character, a lot of points and PIMs racked up over his career

As much as I can’t stand Steelers I can’t help but admire their ability to retain up to now 10 imports from a grand slam winning team. They are going to be very hard to stop Agreed. Signing the league's top points scorer can almost never be said to be a bad move. The downside is that other teams will more know their players and how they played. Basing the league on the last 20 games of last season, Steelers would have been runners up to Giants. The league would've looked like this. Belfast 31 Sheffield 30 Cardiff 28 Manchester 27 Fife 25 (and that's with 3 regulation losses in their last 5 games) Nottingham 21 Glasgow 17 Guildford 15 Dundee 15 Coventry 14 Did the league find out how to play the Steelers last Feb - April, or did Steelers take their foot off the gas? (Let's face it, the game on the 27th December was as good a display as I have ever seen by an EIHL team.)

I think it works both ways. Everyone else is playing catch up and seem to be signing better rosters than last year. But they will all take some time to bed in.

I have to say I think Glasgow look quite strong on paper. Neilson has picked up quite a lot of experienced forwards who have put up decent points
