Unless... We signed a goalie, told him he would be 3rd choice but he was welcome to stay and see out the season as he was here 28/10. It's a nice thought as I'm not massively struck with Rok but I don't think you'd get that statement from Panthers if this was the case. I agree, the statement very much hints at he's screwed us over.

Sheffield had this in the 21/22 when Brust got injured post deadline but they didn’t sign an emergency goalie because they felt their case would be rejected as they still had an import goalie in Stojanovic who was fit to play So if Rok "gets injured" and then recovers within a week. We can sign one and keep him? If Rok got injured then we wouldn’t be able to ice two goalies so as long as we could prove Rok is injured and would miss at least one game then permission should be granted and to my knowledge they would then be allowed to stay for the remainder of the season

As has been said, we don't know what's gone on behind the scenes, so not going to jump in too much. He stuck it out this long as second choice so a bit odd to want out now, if nothing has changed.
Good luck to him anyway.
The trade deadline is IIHF though, so how will he get his registration moved? Unless some leagues just ignore it?

I agree, the statement very much hints at he's screwed us over. I see it as fair game TBH, given clubs cut far more players themselves when it doesn't suit them, than players walking out on a club.
Got to cut both ways, either you want roster flexibility or security.

I agree entirely pre deadline day. A week after it's closed is harsh. There is also a chance that we could have cut him much earlier if we felt he wasn't good enough, but decided to stick with all guys that were here 28/10. Thats all just guesswork of course.

Haven't we got a back up goalie in the comms box ? No, I was a centre Are you any good at face offs?

Or just allowed to replace a player who's walked out on his contract, like several have done already this year in the EIHL. The "specialist position" was always a poor excuse. Isn't every position at least a little specialist? Not really no Rhetorical question. Apologies for confusing.

Would that be similar to the situation that we had 2 seasons back with Carr and we could only sign someone already in the League. Therefore we had Downie because we couldn't sign Bowns

It turned out that the emergency thing was an Elite League rule, not a IIHF rule (who actually transfer the ITC), so our rule didn't make much difference. All clear as mud as usual.

We can only sign somebody if rok/luca gets injured as emergency cover.
Pidge you should know better and know this you have been around long enough.

I'm assuming that claiming one the N/M has a knock not a full on injury isn't allowed.
Whilst it's not the best timing, I don't think I can actually blame him for leaving, he has a future to consider and being a healthy scratch at a end of a Season isn't a good look, it's not as if they are highly paid. I probably would have done the same thing.
TBH and whilst it's always been there, I don't like Signing Deadlines, if a player is a Free Agent, he shouldn't be prevented from joining a club

Be interesting to see if he signs anywhere else. Could be a case of he has got a good career opportunity away from Hockey that was too good to turn down. He might of decided I've given hockey a go as a pro and it hasn't really worked out so now to concentrate on a career outside of hockey and now I have the job offer it's time to quit hockey.

Would the club have regular meetings with the players AND explain/refer to the upcoming deadlines etc….for any reason needed? You’d hope so and the players have a word before such deadline.

Good luck to Mike, but it'd be interesting to know how the IIHF stuff works here, do they just ignore them in NA? Why has he been able to transfer back to a different member nation after the window has ended?

Let's see how many games ON the ice he gets now. Or is he 1st choice and Brian Wilson the cover?

Why has he been able to transfer back to a different member nation after the window has ended? IIHF transfer deadline was 15/2 wasn’t it? Maybe Robinson handed his notice in prior to that so was therefore available for transfer?!
