And presumably we can't bring in another now either after the deadline? As it's not an injury? "disappointed to lose Mike at this time" is a polite way of putting it Couldn't he have done this at the start of the month so we could have brought someone in? š Good luck to the guy, hope he's okay as he's lived through a traumatic season but the timing sucks

Great statement that š¤£.. something tells me panthers ain't very happy Why would they, or should they, be? Quitting the team less than ten days after the transfer deadline has passed is never going to make any team happy. Especially a team bonded by such a tragedy and just starting to make a push for post season hockey

Aweful timing. Obviously he felt he wasn't getting the game time. Perhaps recently informed we had to stick with the number 1 to get the wins rather than rotation and wasn't happy with that. Will always appreciate any player that was here for the tragedy and stuck around after, so thanks for that.
Funnily enough I was looking at the league goalie stats last night and his pretty much stink if we are honest. Had he gone pre deadline with us able to replace it really would have been no great loss.
If Rok gets injured now we wilp be pretty screwed.

The "specialist position" was always a poor excuse. Isn't every position at least a little specialist?

As no one else can play the position As we still have a starting NM on the roster can we now bring in a replacement for one who's not injured then?

The "specialist position" was always a poor excuse. Isn't every position at least a little specialist? Yeah, but they were before the transfer deadline though weren't they? Doesn't the passed transfer deadline mean that it would have to be a replacement for an injured NM now in order to be granted the exception? This is the part of the season where the levels of rules superceded by other levels of rules and then exceptions on top of those always becomes as clear as mud

Very bad timing, as others have said.
Though none of us know what's happened behind the scenes.
Maybe he's been told from hereon in Rok is going to pretty much play all games if fit? With us currently having 15 fit imports and Tetlow supposedly returning soon that would mean Robinson not even taking to the ice as back up..
When is the signing deadline in North America? Just a thought.
Hopefully hrs OK and it's not a health issue with him or his family. If it was you'd like to think Panthers statement would be a little less terse
One things for sure players tend not to leave teams if they are happy unless it's a job opportunity or family issue

Unless...
We signed a goalie, told him he would be 3rd choice but he was welcome to stay and see out the season as he was here 28/10.

I donāt have an issue with why heās chosen to leave but what I donāt get is why now, heās played 13 out of 41 games this season and theyāve come at a reasonably consistent basis since we chose not to continue in the challenge cup so itās not like his ice time has plummeted and Panthers seem to have been blindsided by this so I doubt heās been told that weāre going to ride Stojanovic until the end of the season. Like others have said he deserves respect for sticking with the team after what happened but in choosing to leave after the deadline he has somewhat harmed what this whole club has been working towards since coming back

Good thing Armstrong at Sheffield isn't around he loves taking goalies out. Rok would have been his prime target. and here's me thinking they would have used him at Clan this Saturday leaving Rok fresh for the win against the Giants on Sunday.

It's a specialist position they'll be allowed to bring in another goalie I just had that thought come to me. Can we sign one anyway or have to wait for Rok to get injured though? Sheffield had this in the 21/22 when Brust got injured post deadline but they didnāt sign an emergency goalie because they felt their case would be rejected as they still had an import goalie in Stojanovic who was fit to play

We can sign one and keep him?

Rok must start that one anyway.

Don't worry they do what they can to win. They'll be someone else who will have a go if theu meet panthers in the playoffs quarters

Unless... We signed a goalie, told him he would be 3rd choice but he was welcome to stay and see out the season as he was here 28/10. I can see that the import roster regulations might mean him not being on the team sheet some games. But I can't really see him being considered 3rd choice. He might not be able to be back-up in the game some nights going forward but I can't see us ever having started Luca over Robinson if Rok needed resting or was nursing an issue. But maybe just that, the lack of games 'played' on his stats might have been an issue. Can see him wanting to get game time to put himself in the window for next season but again, don't see what's changed in that that wasn't the potential case before the transfer deadline. But then again this is all guess work. I'm sensitive to the fact that it's only a week since Panthers (and Robinson) returned to the Steelers arena for only the second time since losing Adam. The first game Robinson played so would have had the focus of the game to distract him. This last time he was back up so had nothing to do but look out onto the ice and potentially remember. So it would have been a very different experience and possibly more difficult. So I'm sensitive to the fact that the more he was sitting, or not even on the team sheet due to import limits, then the more he was separated from his teammates in a season when being a group was essential to them. So who knows what might have triggered this change of heart. But, either way, good luck to him going forwards. He stuck around and toughed it out. For that he has my respect
