In shootout shots, Panthers are now 5 for 15 this season. 2 for Lunsjo, 2 for Lemay and 1 for Roy. 1 miss Bjorkung, AJ, Luciani, Michaud, Roy, Neill 2 misses Lunsjo, Otto, Henbrant, 3 misses, Lemay
In game, we've had 3; all missed, all taken by Roy.
Have to say, none of the shots last night looked netbound. When you're low on confidence, they never do.

I think you’re likely spot on with the confidence thing. It’s probably at an all time low.

I’d add Michaud to that list personally. His points total is ok and he does have an eye for a pass, but 2 goals from a top 6 forward highlights our struggles Yes Michaud isn’t much of a scorer (he missed a half open net last night) but he is a playmaker and if his line mate is Anderson then that is a lot of assists he’ll lose as Anderson doesn’t find the net. I wouldn’t mind him back on the third line maybe covering second line with injuries Unfortunately for Michaud I don’t think he has the physical characteristics to be really effective in this league. Plus from what we heard after he signed in the summer he wants to play centre but he’s now been put on the wing due to him being so poor at faceoffs

I firmly believe AJ would have been a top player for Panthers. It’s thoroughly heartbreaking On so so many levels. And to now know he was on the uni deal so we'd have had the joy of his play for a minimum 2 years as well. Still can't believe I'll never see him play again. Heartbreaking is the only word.

Frustrating way to lose, although our penalty shot takers were not great. Rok can be frustrating as he is either brilliant and has a superb game or can be quite ordinary and scored on the same way, either through the 5 hole or blocker side. It seems to be his weakness and teams know about and exploit it.
I thought the crowd were quite vocal in their support, but think the knowledge of some of the fans is sadly lacking. There was one towards the front of block 13 who kept shouting 'too many men' when the ref has his arm up and Kozun had left the ice! Same in OT when the penalties had ended so were 4 on 4 until a whistle goes.

is there any mileage to swapping n/m for the shootout ? It works (sometimes) in Football if one keeper is more agile. Love to see it, just once !

Backups tend to get more practice at penalty shots as it’s often done at the end of training but I don’t think it’d be quite as effective in ice hockey because it’s harder for the goalie to come in cold and it’s easier to predict where a player is going to shoot in football
