Nice memorial at the Scimitars game Sorry to bring a bit of negativity to the page. Great to see respect being paid, but that also means Sheffield wanted that game off amd Blackburn refused!

I for one would like to see his number retired in his honour. I don't think anyone should ever wear a #47 Panthers shirt ever again. For me it will always be Adam's number and though that brings scant comfort this morning, I'm holding onto that little bit of comfort pretty hard Think it should be a league wide retirement, seen providence bruins wore neck guards also, perhaps that should be something the eihl mandate also. Still in shock, been thinking about this tragic incident all weekend. Thoughts to Adam's family, friends, teammates and those folk at the game who witnessed it. Take care everyone.

Literally cannot put into words how I feel about what has happened, other than to say his family, friends, teammates should be so proud to have known him and be part of his life. To the people that did everything they could for him, you have my heart.

Yes I suspect that both the EIHL and Panthers are already considering that option. Yes I think we will all need to take care of each other, the team and the organisation. It will live with me forever. So I u can only imagine what his family, partner and those directly on the ice are going through. Sending them and all the Panthers family my best today, and always

2 days afterwards and I'm still in shock. I haven't been to a game for a few years and I still feel numb so I cannot even comprehend how the people involved must feel. Honestly,if I was a player I don't think I'd be able to play again for a very very long time, from either side

I don't know the in and outs of what happened so don't want to comment. But what I will say is that when the Scimitars knew the game would be going ahead they still gave their players the option not to play the game in order to prioritise their mental health. Here's the rest of the thread. Their final comment is touching

Words can never express enough how tragic the last few days have been. Like most of this board, Johnson's signing made us all sit up and got us excited. He was a massive signing and sparked a lot of optimism on this board (no mean feat!) when he was announced. It seems unbelievable now that he will never be out on that ice. That only scratches the surface though. He will never have locker room hijinks with his team mates. Never have beers with buddies. Never have embraces with his partner. Never give his parents a hug when visiting home. Never experiencing the next 50+ years he should be happily enjoying with all those people. Those people will have such a huge seemingly unfillable hole in their lives right now. My heart goes out to them as I can scarcely comprehend what they're going through. Our experiences as fans pale in comparison to those closest to him. I hope they find the support and strength to help them through this hellish nightmare.
On a slightly different note, having had misfortune of accidentally seeing the footage on twitter, what struck me most was actually the sheer panic of players and officials all doing what they could to save Adam in those first few seconds that seemed like an eternity. I hope all the players, staff, officials who were on the ice can find the support they'll desperately need after such a traumatic event, but especially Petgrave. The hate being directed at him by some on social media is horrendous, but he is a victim in this too.
RIP Adam. Thoughts are with all the players, staff, official, families and friends.
RIP AJ47

Fair play to both teams for stepping up to play, The decision has to be with the players.

For those unfortunate enough to have been in Sheffield, or watching the webcast, Panthers have tweeted some contacts which may prove useful.

It just feels so desperately sad, reading so many of the tributes from around the hockey world they all touch on the same things. That Adam was a fantastic hockey player and a fantastic person.
Seeing the video of him scoring for the Penguins, in his home state, made me smile. The Pens said in their tribute that he had lived his dream of playing in the NHL, that’s a wonderful thing to have done.
That’s how I’d like to remember him, in that moment as the puck bounces his way and he steps into it and he will know before anyone else that this is his moment, just like he’s thought of thousands and thousands of times, draw back your stick like your shooting at the garage door when you were a kid, strike through it and then there is that second, that single heartbeat when it hits the twine but before the light comes on, that single heartbeat before everyone in the stands knows what has happened. I love that he got to feel that moment, that his family were able to share in that with him.
My brother and I are a big hockey nerds, always have been. A fortnight ago we went to watch DEL games in Munich and Augsburg, where Adam had played last season.
The crowd there are amazing, they stand on one huge curve behind the goal and sing throughout, even at 0-2 down early the noise was unbelievable. When they went 3-2 up it felt like the building was shaking. The fans do that thing where the announcer shouts the first name and they respond with the surname, then the announcer shouts AUGSBURG and the crowd respond with the scoreline. Finally, he announces the opposition name, to which the fans respond with something along the lines of “Who cares, they’re ****!”
I love that he got to play there every week, I hope the fans loved him as much as they seemed to love their imports when we saw them play.
I love that he was an NCAA champion with his home state.
I love that we got to see him in black and gold, albeit too briefly.
I’m so so sad, but I’m trying to remember that he lived an incredible life, albeit one that was cruelly cut short.
Go well #47, forever a Panther.

As you’ve pointed out, Adam achieved a lot of wonderful achievements in his career, his family and friends will be very proud of him. I’m glad we got to appreciate him playing for us in Nottingham, I’m sure he would have achieved great things for us as well. We’ve lost one of our own, forever a Panther. Rest easy Adam

My heart genuinely goes out to his partner, family, friends & team mates. I never knew Adam, never met him, yet I did cry last night reading the many, many tributes to him from around the hockey world.
Sleep well Adam #47 🙏🏻

Will the floral tributes outside on the plaza be there all week? Was planning on stopping by and putting flowers down maybe Tuesday Seemingly feeling like a Sunday I felt committed to going down and take a look at the flowers and messages. Have just got back. My lad left a single flower (the last from our garden) and I wasn't the only one there as I'd imagine. Twenty or so and people stayed there a while too. Shamefully I broke down when being interviewed by BBC East Midlands for 6.30pm tonight I think. Was telling the interviewer before how it was wonderful that so many from afar were there and for someone they (like I) had not even met nor in some cases seen playing. It was a horrid accident at a young age and to have come here with his girlfriend, working in the sport he loved - this shouldn't have happened. Took pictures but apparently the files are to big to attach here. One of that floral display from Fife. Saw also Glasgow and Sheffield.

If you want them shared, you can email them to me kievthegreat2003@hotmail.com and I will either find a way to compress them down or I'll post them on my twitter and then I can link the image to here. (open to anyone as I've spotted that you can only upload 1MB files).
